Simon was raised in the capitol city of a small nation called Barnacea. Outsiders might know it as a sleepy little tourist town known for its gothic architecture and bright orange roof tiles. The nation is under the umbrella of a distant Empire. It is that nation’s navy which Simon Janos serves with.
Much of the residential neighborhood are closely packed homes on hills. Winding roads twist through the canyon of colorful houses. The weather is often sunny and humid but not too hot. It rarely passes 90 degrees Fahrenheit in summer.
25 million people live in the nation of Barnacea. The nation exports precision machinery like watches and guitars. A large copper mine provides a major natural resource for export and trade. Farmlands in the nation’s rural areas produce great wine and fresh food for its regional neighbors.
Political refugees and settlers from Spain arrived en masse throughout the late 1600s. This has lead to a culturally diverse society today. Cities like Chalavesa, Nisca and Heski are known for great food, smooth music and a vibrant nightlife.
