History
Whoever Jonquil Bellamy was before she was Jonquil Bellamy, Obrimos, Blessed Sister, and Counciler within the Consilium. Most know the story of the explosive Awakening, of how a fifteen-year-old girl discovered her magic when she quite literally burnt the house down with her parents inside. They lived, not that anyone's ever much cared for such minor characters as the heroine's dysfunctional parents. All that has seemed to matter is what happened to the seemingly nameless girl afterward. Despite being an Obrimos, the young mage was taken into the fold of the Sisterhood of the Blessed and more or less adopted by its leader, Geraldine. And Jonquil Bellamy was well and truly born, forged from the flames that had burnt away whatever she had been before.

Since then, Jonquil has risen through the ranks of mage society within the Consilium, becoming known for her studious nature, aptitude for magic, and her capability as a leader. None would deny that Jonquil is good at her job, nor her qualifications or success. Yet there are always rivals skulking about in one way or another, and there are those that greatly covet her position as a Counciler. Thus far, none have succeeded, but they continue to try, striving to be ever more subtle than the last. But it can be surprisingly difficult to find an advantage over someone in a secret society when they seem to lack the double-life so customary to everyone else. Contrary to most, Counciler Bellamy has wrapped her entire life into the life of magical society, perhaps to the point that whoever she was before her Awakening no longer exists. Perhaps there is no Jonquil Bellamy outside of mage social circles even.

Currently, Jonquil's life is her work, both in the Consilium and in taking on ever more responsibilities as Geraldine's intended successor as leader of the Sisterhood. Reputation often precedes her, and while it has made first impressions significantly more difficult than they were a few decades ago, her motives and goals have remained the same. To further knowledge in order that it might be used as a tool to strive towards the greater good. A greater good that requires justice and accountability in equal measure.
