In the dark recesses of AVUL 890 B22 on Martian-Colonized Bowet’lo is a red waste of sweeping dust-clouds and roving dust devils. This is Wex, an inhospitable region rippled with plateaus and carved by ancient river valleys. Train tracks cut through its brush as the only sign of “civilized” civilization. Wex is a place of exiles, bandits, and those with no other option than to be hopeful here.

Many people live here. Most of them are bitter folk, boiled once by the twin suns Cahiti and Tal, and then again by life. Forced to make a living in a place unrecognized by the Martian ruling government as inhabited or even hospitable, people callous over quickly. In the small towns dotting Wex, strangers are regarded with skepticism. Everyone here has a past and they’re all very aware of that.

Most here don’t make attempts at traveling, which makes folks like Chiti-Ann and Telc quite a pair. A pair of desert courtiers, the pair pick up the odd jobs no one wants, including the traveling. For the last couple of years, they’ve gone on with that alright. However, a package given to them by an inconspicuous stranger a few months back has framed them for the murder of the children of Reche Hellfire, the notorious leader of The Northern Flames, a gang of ruthless criminals and exiles serving vigilante jusitice across the desert. Now, Reche won't rest until xe has their heads.

Now the pair rove the desert, trying their best to keep their heads down and find a way to clear their name.

Chiti Ann “Chiti-Ann” Weol
A hybridization of the colonizing human race and the native welr race, Chiti was created in an unregulated lab carefully hidden in Cater. She is the result of a Biologist’s attempt to create a hardy human hybrid that could withstand the dangerous temperatures of Northern Wex, a place hot enough to kill a human within moments. Raised by her creator, her childhood was a never ending series of tests she could never figure out the purpose of. She never could fail them and there was never a shortage of praise by her creator, no-matter what she did.

She was taken away by the Cater government at age 15 and taken to a facility where, once again, she was subjected to a series of tests. However, everyone she met regarded her shamefully, as if her entire existence was a failure on their collective part that had to be kept secret.

Chiti ran from that place before she was seventeen and escaped to Wex in the following months. From there, she blended into the first settlement she had found. She’s been making a living for herself since. Or, had. Four months ago, a package framed her and her partner, Telc, for the murder of two children. This has put a bounty on their heads that they’ve been running from ever since.


Belber-Dolm Telc Malzron

A Grece of the Belber-Dolm territory of Dalrum, Telc came to Bowet’lo with his mentor as an adolescent. Wanting to avoid the bustle and heavy regulation of Cater, they moved out to Wex. Ever since then, he’s stood out. Not many Grece leave Dalrum, making him an oddity. However, he’s bared that mark with grace.

On zir death bed, Telc’s mentor told him to finally go off by himself, and he did. He fell in with a hybrid of a similar social rank by the name of Chiti. He worked alongside her, working odd jobs and delivering packages all across Wex. They became familiar faces across the red countryside and were regarded warmly in some parts.

That all changed four months ago. They were given a package to deliver that would frame them for a ghoulish murder of the two children of Reche Hellfire, a notorious gang leader. This has kept him and Chiti on the run ever since.

Mars, Earth & The Human Space Race
A former colony of Earth started in the year 2043, Mars broke away from the other planet’s grip in 2350. Now, Earth and Mars have competed in a series of imperialist efforts to colonize as much of space as possible whilst simultaneously trying to devour one another. The battle has become a symbol of human arrogance amongst other races.

Once solely a human colony on a barren planet, Mars has sprung to life and is known for its water-production and high-tech greenhouses that host millions of plant species from across the galaxy. Mars and all of its colonies have become mixtures of various races from every reach of the galaxy, whilst Earth remains a solely human planet.

Bowet’lo
A recently colonized planet, Bowet’lo is in the midst of major structural changes. Cater and Bolit are its two cities and both flank the outskirts of Wex. The two cities are the largest on Bowet’lo and the only two recognized by the Martian Assembly. They are housed inside a temperature-cultured glass dome that protects the cities against the sometimes harsh native weather of Bowet’lo.
