    So, yes, quite obviously inspired by Hellboy, particularly the first two movies, Hellboy and Hellboy II: The Golden Army. The reboot is more or less ignored, and the comics and wiki are taken as light inspiration. Hellgirl is also more than just Hellboy with a flipped sex; she's meant to explore similar ideas, but not go through identical stories. I'd like the basics, the broad strokes to be similar--some version of the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense, maybe with other non-humans teaming up to go after the bad non-humans. Something in that neighborhood, though the details are to be altered to suit a story.

    She isn't necessarily meant for stories strictly in the Hellboy vein; instead, she's One of the Hundred, a Daughter of Lilith. With ninety-nine siblings and countless ties to others, all with varying degrees of friendliness and sense of kinship, even without taking into account entities with which she has no personal tie, there are plenty of things to keep a story going.
