His memories flee him with every waking moment, yet one will never leave.

A heavy fog settles in, he is on duty...guarding the family home of a wealthy man. A mere soldier for hire 'till this grim night. Shrieks blared from the nearby forest and then nothing but blackness. Waking up, burning under his skin...so cold. She had killed him, or so he thought. The next night the need to feed consumes him and he kills the family who's home he was supposed to be protecting. That morning, bodies were found mutilated and void of all blood. He knew now she had made him a monster.

Centuries upon centuries he stayed entrapped within a maze with seemingly no exit, it's pathways constantly shifting. Banished to this place after taking every life throughout four large villages mere months after his turning, nobody could slay him. Centuries upon centuries, yet still the living send soldiers and warriors and even cunning rogues to end his life. All fail. Not a one has ever returned.

All he wishes is death now, a blessed freedom from the curse he unwillingly took on. Alone for so long in such a dreary place...he's lost his mind. Mayhaps some adventurer could help him recover what he has lost, bring life back to his frozen, undead heart? Mayhaps he'll kill them too.........
