Hali is generally laid back, friendly and outgoing in nature. She doesn't hold many of the same judgments others of her kind can have against others, either within the species or without. A large part of this is due to her friendship with Taeli, who softened her rough edges over the many years of their friendship. The Koten, despite her friendly disposition, is fully loyal to her people and her clan, her new home of Kyroda. She will fiercely protect it if necessary, using all means available to her up to and including violence and death. She often wears a smile, but don't let it fool you, she is neither weak nor foolish. She is not easily manipulated, being sharp of mind and cunning in spirit. It doesn't take much for her to be friendly, but it takes a lot more for her to truly be a friend.

Much like the rest of her species, when she is under water she goes completely nude. Nudity is nothing sexual to her and if she sees a person nude she will not think twice about it (nor will she take it as some sign the other person wants to mate). She; however, also realizes that those above the ocean are more inclined to clothes and she has clothing to accomodate such needs.
