Marsh - The Marsh King

TW: sexual assault, graphic description of violence (Marsh and his story is inspired by the movie Strange Magic. Basically a much darker version that discusses the morality of using the potions, when both parties can't consent if they are dusted or if only one is, and they remember everything after they have found their one true love and the effects of the potion stop)

He is king of the Dark Forest. He's 21 years old and has been fighting a vicious war with the fairies over primroses and the morality of using them to make love potions since he was 16; and took the throne when his last remaining family member died unexpectedly. Marsh had been indifferent to the idea of potions until one of his fellow goblins was dusted with a potion and fell in love with him, since he was the first being she had seen when she opened her eyes. Someone had rigged the door to drop the potion on whoever walked underneath, and she happened to be the one to do so. Marsh, of course, was furious that someone had played such a cruel trick, but he couldn't think of it for long because the she-goblin was practically glued to his side, and no matter what he did he couldn't lose her. Eventually he resigned to sit on his throne and let her have her way with him. It was uncomfortable, and he begged her to stop. She did, but at that point it was done and he knew there was no coming back from it, for both of them. So he made a decision. He stood from his throne, grabbed his staff, and slammed the heavy end into her skull, killing her instantly. That day he slaughtered more creatures than he ever had. Some unfortunate goblins just kept getting in his way after he killed the last one. His rampage finally stopped when he came to his most trusted advisors, and he ordered them to dispose of the bodies.

Since then, Marsh keeps to himself besides fighting in the war with his soldiers. His advisors are still at his side, their unwavering loyalty is a bit annoying though. So he constantly is taking leisurely flights out of the castle to get away from it all, and making his way through the Dark Forest to perch on a tree looking into the fairy kingdom or admire the flowers, some even larger than he is. His staff is his trusty companion, made of metal with a large metal dragonfly's head on the top that he uses for fighting and also walking since he has acquired a limp since the time long ago that the goblin had fallen in love with him.
