- started with a pawn of Aleous-Err. He garnered too much wild magic and tore the veil between the lower ranks of hell (Home to the Ilk, purposeless demons created from the ilk left over from the creation of Demon Nobility), allowing the ilk to seep over into the mortal plane.

- Blamed once again on the mages as Aleous-Err is the demon of raw and wild magic, many countries began criminalizing mages. Even Osuasia, whos modern cities at the time relied on magic to function. The Osuasian Empire has banned mages for all its nations and pressures its allies to ban mages as well.

- The Scourge corrupts all flora and fauna. When inflicted with the Scourge (Either by contact with infected spit or blood) one becomes tainted by demonic powers and goes through a disease that is almost like rabies.

1090 - the Fourth Era:

His name was Václas Durldel Aridra, though that name has been long lost to time.

He had been a peasant on the coast of Euliweon. He was a young mage who had thrown himself to the study of the wild magic that teems endlessly through all and everything. Václas devoted himself to the Demon Prince of Aleous-Err, the demon of Wild Magic. He had been unconvinced by the poor reputation of the demon. Václas presumed it came from the assumption of danger that came with wild magic. He had already accepted that danger, and embraced the demon willingly, becoming a pawn of Aleous-Err.

Becoming a bonded servant of Aleous-err granted Václas with a magic that went beyond the comprehension of his mortal mind. When flooded with the raw, unbreakable ferocity and power of wild magic - Václas snapped.

Václas's magic surged from him. His actions lacked sense. He destroyed everything in his wake - killing dozens in his small fishing village.

This is where it began - in the wild castings of an overwhelmed scholar. It sounds almost benign - undeserving of the trauma it has caused. This is how the Scourge began.

Václas's magic tore apart the seams between lowest pits Hell and this world. From this tear between planes poured out the Ilk and began the corruption of The World.

Before the damage could be accessed, Václas was struck down. Despite the efforts of mages, the seam was irreparable - and as the corruption grew, it became more and more dangerous to approach the source.
