There wasn't much Megaera remembered before the orphanage. The trauma of watching her parents be slaughtered while they were on holiday to the Terrestrial Realm caused for any memories of her young childhood to be repressed. As such, Meg grew up not knowing who or what she was - just a weird canine with crystals growing out of her and some magical abilities. In time as she aged, the woman went out in search of answers to just where she came from.
