Nosy, she can hold her own in a fight, verbal or physical, quick-witted, has a quick temper sometimes, snarky and sassy, kind at times, mischievous, strong, brave, stubborn, and will not be won over or pushed over easily, bold, patient mostly.
As a queen, she comes off as cold or extremely serious, but even when she is serious about her duties she keeps a somewhat playful side, but she is also cautious and observant of those around her. Asteria is known for her intelligence and can think outside the box for a solution for the problem at hand.
Regarding love, Asteria isn’t sure how to approach it, one day she thinks she will but for now, her kingdom comes first and love can wait unless the right person came along and earned her trust, heart, and respect.
She sometimes shows mercy and believes in second chances, but if it doesn’t work out and the kingdom and/or someone she cares about is put in danger as a result, she won’t hesitate to do what she needs to.


Likes: The sea, sunshine, stories, complex designs in architecture, horses, feeling normal, the palace gardens, sparring, not knowing exactly what is happening around her, having some control over a situation.

Light powers and some very minor healing. Her light powers are mostly being able to create light from her hands and sometimes shape it, though it takes a lot of concentration.

OOC note: It's not required for Asteria to have magic in all RPs. I am perfectly fine with adjusting her to not have magic at all for a setting without magic.

Asteria is the firstborn child of King Harold and Queen Calypso and from the day she was born she was loved by almost all and her birth was celebrated throughout the kingdom. The little princess grew up with everything she could ever want. However, at age six, Asteria was surprised when a new member of the royal family was born, her younger brother Jaxon. The young princess disliked the idea of having a sibling and having to share what was hers.

Not long after the prince’s birth, bad luck seemed to follow. There was bad weather that ruined crops and the kingdom seemed to be on constant defense from invaders. Not only that but weeks after the prince was born, Queen Calypso vanished without a trace. Some believe she was taken but most including the king believe she left on her own accord. The queen had been distant lately and didn’t seem to bond much with her newborn, which led many, even Asteria, later on, to suspect she ran away from the royal life. Asteria was devastated and in her grief for some reason, it became harder to ignore her newborn brother who was constantly crying for some love or attention. Finally, she went to visit him and from the moment she first saw him she bonded with him, going from resenting him to instantly adoring her new brother.

From that day forward Jaxon was mostly raised and cared for by Asteria and some of the palace maids. The king had become terribly busy and had to protect the kingdom from many attacks, resulting in him barely being able to see his children, which the king felt awful about but there was little he could do about it. The prince and princess were extremely close growing up and it was rare to see one without the other behind them or by their side.

At age fourteen her father pulled both her and her brother aside to give them some startling news. Apparently, he had heard a prophecy of some sort that Asteria and Jaxon both represented light (Asteria) and darkness (Jaxon), and one day they could be in extreme conflict with the other, which could result in an epic battle. Asteria refused to believe it, storming out of the room followed by her brother. After that day she vowed to Jaxon that she would never hate him much less battle him. Less than a week later they would discover their powers, Asteria learned of her light abilities and Jaxon discovered his shadow ones, that could be used to hurt people rather than heal them as Asteria’s did.

When she was fifteen her father took in the son of a knight who died alongside him in battle, in order to honor the brave knight, the boy’s name was Caspian. The two royal siblings quickly got along with the ward and the inseparable duo became the inseparable trio.

On the day of her coming of age celebration and the day she would be crowned the official heir, the palace was infiltrated and was under attack. A man entered the ball and seemed to upset the king very much. This man was apparently some sort of dark sorcerer and used dark magic to summon his minions to overwhelm the guards to distract them. How they were able to get in so easily is a mystery, it is suspected the mystery man knew the palace extremely well beforehand and planned this attack.

Vague words that meant nothing to no one but the king and the invader were exchanged before the man suddenly stabbed the king right there and then before anyone could do a thing. Asteria watched frozen in grief and anger, as she attempted to attack the man who murdered her father Caspian grabbed her and dragged her away so they can escape. Caspian and Jaxon were able to fight off most of the soldiers so they can escape, but Caspian was distracted with trying to stop Asteria from turning back to foolishly attack the invader. The trio fled the palace, by the time they made it to the citadel the chaos had spread there and buildings were being set on fire and destroyed. Asteria felt helpless as she watched and tried to attack the soldiers, but ended up being knocked unconscious by Caspian in order to protect her from getting hurt.

As the three went to flee the citadel, Jaxon had to solely fight off most of the attackers trying to follow them, since Caspian was now carrying Asteria. The young prince resented his powers so he barely knew how to use them to defend himself, so he had to rely on skill which almost wasn’t enough. Soon Jaxon became overwhelmed and could barely fight them off, once he got out of Caspian’s sight, the older male got worried but realized he had to choose between the royals. If he stayed any longer Asteria’s life was in danger, and she was now the rightful queen and the kingdom’s last hope. So with a heavy heart, Caspian left without the prince, not truly knowing if the boy was still alive or dead.

Now that the queen was safe, for now, she could devise a plan to reclaim Linirea. The moment Asteria woke up, she went to check the surrounding villages and got them to safety. After that, she secretly gained allies and carefully planned out how to take back her kingdom. It took almost two years, of building relationships with neighboring lands, once she was ready she went to take back the palace. The invader, now the tyrant king ruled over the land with an iron fist and used dark unnatural magic to keep the people under his control, but some stayed hopeful their rightful queen would return. Their prayers were answered when Asteria stormed the citadel with her allies, she had destroyed the man’s dark unnatural source of magic and now he was helpless, Asteria had him banished faraway, wanting him to live out his days powerless and helpless.

After taking back the kingdom she discovered her brother was indeed alive and had been saved by the invader moments before the prince was killed, who forced Jaxon into being his right-hand man and personal assassin. The boy had used his out-of-control dark magic minutes before he was nearly killed and the tyrant saw this knowing he could use the prince’s magic to his advantage. Jaxon resented Asteria for ‘forgetting’ about him for years. She tried to reconcile with her brother though he was distant, she had to put her duties first and rebuild the kingdom so it was hard for her to find the time to try to understand what he was going through. Even as the kingdom celebrated her return Asteria took no time to celebrate, though she made sure to make time to personally knight Caspian and a few other brave men and women who had fought beside her.

Even after her brother had decided to leave Linirea, in order to move past everything he had gone through, Asteria still forced herself to put the kingdom first. Perhaps it made her a bit cold-hearted, but she knew she had to put her people first before anything.

She promised she would never be a harsh ruler, but quickly learned that being too gentle or a pushover did not earn people’s respect. Now as a young queen trying to learn and navigate her duties more, she must find a balance between harsh and gentle and do her best to rule Linirea. And also gain the respect of the court and her people. Though many people see the kingdom as vulnerable because they underestimate the young queen and think she and the kingdom are an easy target. Asteria waits for the opportunities to prove them wrong, and she quite often surprises them.

There are about three time periods of her life in the bio I am willing to play. Also, I can also make an AU or alternate timeline so if we are playing something from earlier in her life, like before her kingdom was taken or during that time, it doesn’t have to strictly follow what happened in the bio.

The first I can do it either right before her kingdom was taken over or even a while before.

The next is during, which can be an option tied into the first if YC fled the kingdom with her. Or if they met after she could have met YC while she is in hiding.

The next and most common, but I am not limited to it, is after everything happened and she is starting to rebuild her kingdom.
