The Good Doktor

Jonathan stands at 7’0” tall, he has a well toned body, grey-ish pale body complexion and shoulder length brown hair that is swept back. He wears a matching brown hat, plague doctor mask and brown trench coat. Underneath the coat he wears white button shirt with dark green pants and a pair of black shoes.

Jonathan was a simple farmer who worked hard to support his family. He was a man of faith who believed that God had a plan for everyone. One day he took his sheep's to a local bazaar to make some money. As usual, the bazaar was full of people who bought and sold various items or livestock. Until a blood curdling scream echoed across the bazaar drowning other sounds.


Jonathan went to check what was happening. He saw a man laying on the ground the black substance oozing from his nose and eyes. Seeing such horrors Jonathan was shocked, people began to panic, some began to feel sick and started to throw up with the same black liquid. Jonathan didn’t stay long; he rushed back to his farm leaving his sheep's behind.


When he returned home he found out that his youngest daughter had a fever. He didn't tell his wife what he saw in town so as not to stress her even more. When evening came Jonathan went to bed while his wife stayed next to their daughter. In the morning Jonathan woke up to a quiet house which was odd. He made his way to his daughter's room to find his wife and youngest daughter covered in the same black liquid.


Their lifeless bodies just laid there Jonathan let out a scream rushing to his elder daughter's room. He found her dead as well, he ran outside. Looking around he saw birds laying dead in black mass, making his way he found his livestock also dead. This was too much for Jonathan; he couldn’t believe this was happening. Everything he cared about and loved was taken away. The man fell on his knees and began to pray, but for some reason he felt even more lost.


He forced himself up then went back to his house. He dragged dead bodies out then dug three graves, he buried his family while questioning God why he punished him. He made his way back to the kitchen, taking a knife he pressed cold iron against his throat. But no matter how hard he tried he couldn’t do it. Jonathan was broken he spent all night mourning his family and when morning came he burned his house and left. Jonathan made his way to the town, when he arrived he found it abandoned.


The black mass was all over the place, road, stone walls, it was everywhere. That black mass was people's bodies melting into a liquid-like mass. He looked around for any signs of life, but he found only more dead bodies. Like a ghost Jonathan wandered around the town looking for something or someone who was still alive until he couldn’t move anymore. When morning came Jonathan continued his search taking a turn he saw something move. Jonathan quickly approached the figure just to find it was a corpse covered in black mass, with half of it rotten away.


The monster let out a gurgled cry spitting out some of black liquid on itself then attacked Jonathan. Jonathan was never a fighter, he was a peaceful man, but something clicked in him. Clenching his fist Jonathan punched the corpse, its body was soft, all the tissues and bones were almost nonexistent as they were turned into black mass. His fist went through like a hot knife through butter; the corpse staggered for a brief moment, but continued to move forward, extending its rotten arms towards man. Jonathan punched the corpse's head, knocking it off but things still moved.


Jonathan quickly realized he was no longer alone, looking around he found himself surrounded by the dead. He tried to fight them but they kept going no matter what until Jonathan accidentally knocked a lantern. The ghouls burst into flames in a matter of seconds, their painful whaling could be heard for miles, yet their painful cries attracted more undead.


Jonathan ran away, he hid inside the local doctors office, he knew what he had to do. He had to purify everything with fire but he needed lamp oil or a torch. While looking around for anything that would burn. While he was browsing he found an odd looking costume, it was black long trench coat next to it laid a mask resembling the beak of a crow. Jonathan continued to look around until he found the doctor's dairy.


Jonathan was a simple man, but thanks to him buying and selling livestock he had to learn how to read at least a little bit. Jonathan spent some time reading the diary, in the doctor's diary the doctor kept referring to the creepy looking suit. Jonathan could hear cries of the dead as they kept getting closer and closer. Grabbing the weird suit doctor kept mentioning he put it on expecting it to do something.


Jonathan then found some alcohol and matches however it was too late for him, he was surrounded. The dead begin to force their way inside leaving no choice, but burn the entire place down with him inside. He broke a bottle with alcohol down, setting various papers on fire, the fire spread quickly and soon the entire place was burning. The dead cried in pain, but not Jonathan; he remained silent even if he was in a lot of pain.


The building burned down to the ground leaving nothing but ashes. Yet the suffering wasn’t over, like a phoenix Jonathan rose from the ashes. His body was healed and his clothes remained untouched by flames despite him remembering them burning. He was confused, but he didn’t have time to ponder what happened. He heard more cries in the distance, making his way out he went to the first house grabbing anything flammable he began to spread it among buildings then set everything on fire.


After he was done Jonathan went to the port he climbed inside a boat, he began to oar while watching flames in the distance illuminating the sky. He kept going until the only thing he saw was dark smoke. Then he dropped oars and just drifted and eventually he stopped caring if it was day or night it was all the same to him. No matter if he suffered from elements or lack of food, he kept waking up. Until one day his boat hit a shore.

And once again Jonathan survived harsh nature punishments. Pushing himself up, the man in mask began his journey in an unknown land. Just like his homeland this land was cursed by plague, if God refuses to take him no matter what, Jonathan decided to make something out of this curse. Wandering aimlessly he took care of the dead who were walking among the living. During his journey through unknown land he met a woman named Belladonna, who wore a similar mask to his.


Both not belonging anywhere they decided to travel together, the woman promised to help cure Jonathan from his curse, eventually they bonded more and started to like each other. They began to travel together as a couple who tried to find cure to this plague, during their travels Jonathan learned that there are more people like him. Trying to do the same they called themselves “The Good Doktors”. Jonathan found purpose in life, to protect and stay with Belladonna and help the Doktors to cleanse the world from the plague.
