◖BIRTH NAME◗ Angelo Ezio Mancuso. ◖NICKNAME◗ Ángel, his mother calls him il mio angelo d'amore, but most refer to him as Angelo. A few call him mr. Mancuso, but that's his father, he has yet to earn that. ◖BIRTH DATE◗ 10th July. ◖AGE◗ He's 21 years old. ◖ZODIAC◗ Cancer. ◖NATIONALITY◗ He's half Italian, half Irish, but there's little Irish about him and his family. He would call himself Italian-American if asked. ◖OCCUPATION◗ He's a student, but he also works for his father, as he is going to inherit his business. ◖RESIDENCE◗ He lives at home with his parents at a large townhouse in Chicago. ◖RACE◗ Human. |
◖HEIGHT◗ 1,72. ◖BODY TYPE◗ Broad-shouldered and quite fit, muscular and defined, in quite a good shape. ◖EYES◗ He has brown eyes. ◖HAIR◗ Black and curly. ◖COMPLEXION◗ He has a warm, olive toned skin colour. ◖TATTOOS◗ None ― yet. ◖SCARS◗ He has quite some, more than the average boy scout scars, but most are faded and they are mostly from training too rough. ◖HANDEDNESS◗ He's righthanded. ◖SEXUALITY◗ He's gay, but very closeted. He'd love to come out and has accepted it himself at least, but he can't. ◖RELATIONSHIP STATUS◗ Single, but it's only a question of time before he's going to be engaged. |
◖STRENGTHS◗ His ability to learn quickly, his strength and body control, how well he speaks and the way he carries himself, his sense of fashion and confidence, his appearance and general skillset, such as combat skills and knowledge of firearms. Some would also label his heritage as a strength, that he has always had everything that he ever wanted, though he would not necessarily agree fully. He's also quite the dancer, which is a surprise to most, but he has a natural way with rhythm ― and that body control can be good for more than just combat. ◖WEAKNESSES◗ The few, yet large insecurities that he carries with him are probably his biggest weakness; it's the brief moments of inadequacy, the feeling that he will never be truly capable of what he is meant to be, the shame of his own sexuality and how he struggles to speak freely about the issues that he has. ◖LIKES◗ Working out, running, combat training, sharpshooting, reading, sports, going to events, the theatre, or similar, a good glass of red wine, fine dining, smooth gelato, ballroom dancing, his parents, family, and the organisation in general, stargazing, cooking, learning new things, languages, as well as just ... relaxing and forgetting all expectations for a moment. He also loves fries and chicken nuggets, a guilty pleasure and a cardinal sin for a good, Italian boy. ◖DISLIKES◗ He hates the feeling of inadequacy, feeling left out or ignored. He's a sore loser and hates being bested or simply not being able to learn something, not understanding something. He's not too fond of beer, ciders, and similar alcohol and he's not the best with very spicy foods either. There's also the general dislike of not being able to be who he really is, but that's something he has grown to accept. ◖FACECLAIM◗ Gavin Leatherwood. |

The heir to the throne
No choices for a future of his own ________________ Angelo Ezio Mancuso was born as the first son of Faye and Leonardo Mancuso. The couple had married less than a year prior, rekindling after years of separation, and Angelo became the product of their relationship and growing love. He was adored by both and what one would call a perfect child. Calm and mild, smiling, only truly crying when he was taken away from his mother. Luckily for him, she rarely let go of him as he was the child she had always dreamed of, but thought that she would never have. His parents dreamed of the large family, a bustling house full of laughter with children running around their legs. This came to an end, when Angelo's mother was shot when he was only around one. While she lived, she lost the ability to carry children, and their dream of expanding their family ended: But they had Angelo. He was the first born and luckily for Leonardo he was a son, someone who could carry on his legacy, the traditions of not only the Mancuso family, but the Mancuso clan and the business surrounding it. Angelo was brought up in a home full of love incapsulated in a criminal underworld. This was his everyday life: His home was built around his father cooking while his mother, truly the lady of the house, would watch with glee and joy, but outside it would be with a father as the main leader of the largest Italian mafia in Chicago; one that Angelo would inherit when his father would retire, still many years from now. He was homeschooled by what could only be described as the best teachers while also undergoing vigorous physical training as soon as he could. And when all of that was done, he would come into the living room to his mother's hugs and kisses, to pats on his head by his father, the smell of home cooking and the sense of security. He had nothing to complain about. He was an only child, but he had Damiano, the son of his father's right hand man, the one who was going to pass on his father's legacy and become Angelo's right hand man. Seven years his senior, he was like a big brother to Angelo, someone who protected him, but also someone he learned from constantly ― and someone he had fun with. When he was not training, studying, or staying at home, he would accompany his parents to highend events, being fully emerged into the upper class lifestyle at a very early age: And he fit beautifully in with the rest. It just came natural to him, how he grew from the adored young boy to a fine young man, taking up interests in classical music, wine tastings, and ballroom dancing, all while he still continued his physical training, being introduced to weapons, and learning the art of torture. It was just how life was, how it was going to be, what he would teach his own children when that came to be. Because this was a classic, Catholic, Italian household, one who valued traditions, even if Angelo knew from an early age that his parents were far from traditional. It was this beautiful combination of fitting perfectly well with the expectations and yet making their own, not caring about what others thought of them and their love, they would simply have to adapt to them. Along with his parents, this was once one of the greatest inspirations for Angelo: Until he realised how far from traditional he actually was. He did all what was expected of him and excelled beyond what others, even his father thought he would, always learning everything quicker, perfecting it before he should be able to, truly proving himself to be able to carry on the torch of the Mancuso clan. But the moment he was introduced to the fact that he would have to marry to do so, things changed. He had always known, deep down, that he would have to marry ― he even had the idea that his parents were going to set him up with Damiano's younger sister, Giulia. But when it clicked ― especially when he first realised what it would entail to have children ― it dawned on him. Even now, good and well into his mid teens, he had never looked at a women with that sense of attraction. When he looked at them, he admired their sense of style, their beauty in an objective sense, and he enjoyed their company, if he likes their person. But he wasn't unaware of that feeling of attraction, when it was described to him by the guys the same age as him, when they had nothing better to do at events than rate the women. While they would list all that was to lust for in a woman, his eyes were caught by the men instead. The moment he realised, it was as if something broke. This realisation that he was never going to be what was expected, at least fully. And the fear that he would fall into it, this trap that he could not even escape, that he had no power over, it was what it was ― and he hated it. It didn't come to him quickly, but he realised that he would have to quell the feeling. No matter what he did, no matter what he felt, all those desires had to die and he could never act upon them. He would eventually end up married, he would have children, all would be well, and he would live up to the expectation. Even if it made him beyond miserable. Because even the thought made him beyond miserable. At that point, it was not even about the inadequacy of himself, but the fact that he would have to lie for the rest of his life, greatly affecting other people with them, but it would in the end be better, since he convinced himself that the truth would never come out. Never would he meet someone where he felt that it was worth the risk. He still found no physical attraction to women, even Giulia, whom it became clear that he would sooner or later be engaged to. The only one that he decided to tell the truth was Damiano, since even if he did not truly want to, it only seemed right, not because of him being Giulia's brother, but because he was his right hand man. And then it would die with them. Well, it would have, if he had not attended that one event that turned it all on its head when he met him. |
○ C O M P O S E D
adj. | com·posed Free from emotional or mental agitation. Angelo has an aura of being fully and extremely composed, and to a certain degree that's absolutely true. It's how he carries himself, what he strives to be. While he cannot be completely unaffected, he has to at least appear that he has everything together. If you meet him, this is what you will see him as, even if he is caught in worry and uncertainty. He never lets people see a different side of him, unless they're close to him. He could risk appearing cold, but mostly this kind of distance makes him appeal to others, probably due to seeming mysterious, as someone you want to get to know, but cannot. |
○ F O C U S E D
adj. | focus·ed Having the mind fixed on something. If Angelo has a goal, he goes for it. One primary goal has been set from the moment he was born and he is adamant to achieve it no matter what. His life has been built around it and he cannot let anything interfere, not even his own emotions and desires that he might have had, if this goal had not been set for him. His intense focus is weighing him down, though, especially because he has to make sacrifices to accommodate it, even when there are things he dreams of as well; if it doesn't fit in with the plan, there's just nothing to do. He has to stay on the path, whether or not he likes or wants it deep down. He has to make others proud of him, only then can he feel truly accomplished. |
○ C A P T I V A T I N G
adj. | cap·ti·vat·ing Having an often mysterious or magical power to attract, charmingly or irresistibly appealing. Angelo is absolutely captivating. There's something about him, not just his composed, distant self, there's just this energy around him that draws people to him. He's the perfect combination of his parents, the charm of his father and warmth of his mother. Even with his captivating aura, he has the ability to install a sort of fearfulness in others, this odd mixture of wanting to be near him yet knowing that he might be up to no good; which to some is just as drawing as he is without that realisation. He emits that of a true gentleman, but more calculated. He knows that he has this effect on others, to a certain extent at least. And it only helps that not only his aura, but his general appearance is captivating, similar to that of a painting. |
○ W A R M H E A R T E D
adj. | warm·heart·ed Having or marked by sympathy and consideration for others. Both a strength and a weakness, Angelo is incredibly warmhearted. He has a great deal of empathy, even when he shouldn't. He has to quell it, knowing that it won't do him any good in certain situations, but his very being is warm. If you know him, he's all smiles and laughter, someone who cares about how others feel, how they are and their thoughts. It's hard to contain since it's so ingrained in his being, even though he has been taught that he needs to be able to keep a distance to it. He is going to inherit an empire where he needs to keep an emotional distance a lot of the time, but deep down he's a warmhearted teddybear who enjoys making others feel good, who himself feels better if others are well around him, and who can light up a room simply by stepping in ― especially when he smiles. |
| COMBAT |
Angelo has been training from a very young age to be able to defend himself. While he will always have someone to protect him, someone who will always be more capable in this department than him, he has to be able to defend himself. He works out at least three days a week, intensive physical workout, where a big part of it is an array of combat training. His reflexes are fast and he's incredibly strong. He has been trained to be able to withstand multiple assailants and has been in multiple simulations to prepare him for anything that could happen. It hasn't been with a focus on perhaps, but most likely, and they surely didn't go easy on him, which has made him quite skilled.
| FIREARMS |
Sometimes, being able to defend oneself with your fists and body just won't be enough. Angelo carries weapons with him, at least a gun, most of the time, and he has to be able to use it to perfection. It's not for show and it's surely not something he would use lightly, so he has to be well trained, not only in how they work, but when to use them, the situational training is just as important. He knows how to use a lot of different firearms, he knows how to keep and clean them, how to disarm them, how to act around guns. He knows how dangerous they are, but he's clearly comfortable around weapons in general, simply because he has to. Besides firearms, he of course also knows how to use other weapons, such as knives, should that be necessary.
| INTERROGATION |
Another aspect that should not be overlooked is the psychological. As the heir, he has to be able to read people easily and he needs to know how to extract information. While he might not be in the field, it might be necessary that he gets what's needed. The techniques ranges from how to simply act towards people to most efficient methods of torture ― how to hit right, what works on different kinds of people. A lot of it is to be able to get under people's skin in the right situation while also being able to keep calm and collected. He has been exposed to some of it himself to know how it feels, but most of it has been practice and learn. Simply being taught and told about it isn't enough so he has seen his fair share of interrogations, injuries, and pain. All a part of his training.
| BUSINESS |
Most of the time, though, he has to be a business man. He's currently studying to further his knowledge within the world of business, but it is also something he has been brought up to know a lot about naturally. Of course, one has to know how to be in charge of a business if one aims to become an CEO, but especially when said business is on the wrong side of the law. He has to know how to keep it there without being caught, how to make it seem legitimate, he needs to know the language and the movements of the business, while also having a CV that looks just as legit to run such a business. Another side of this is the social; learning how to work in the circles of people and events, how to appear to the public and others, how to speak, to be able to charm others. And that he knows too. |
