Appearance > Wiry and energetic, Jacomo is as springy and gangly as a typical thirteen-year-old. His eyes are dark; the corners turn up in mischief and laughter, the expected joviality of the youngest heir with the least to shoulder - though they only barely mask an unceasing sense of perpetual sorrow and responsibility, one far greater than that of most boys his age. His hair is black, its length starting to threaten a curl, his face fair and only beginning to take on the characteristic angles of his family, his fine clothes of silver and green often dirtied by adventure or distraction. He is often accompanied by the russet-red house tigre, and the two are stalwart companions. > "It hugged the walls, hackles and tail raised, eyes unblinking. It was a beast of taut muscle and inky-black fur, large enough to rip out the throat of his sister or his father. But it was still so very, very small next to the other one, limbs gangling, paws and eyes - odd and unnatural silver in pupil and iris - large with youth, curiosity and fear."

Aura
Of his surviving immediate family, Jacomo's is strangely the most fulfilled and complete. Lambent orange, animalistic and faintly silvering at the edges. Nothing is missing. Nothing is stolen; the faint sparks of magic are vestiges of what could have been. The frustration and restlessness that flare and curl in this aura is all the boy's own and entirely natural In very many ways, Jacomo is the typical youngest child of a noble family. He's the last to claim any birthright to the House, yet has access to all of its resources, and knows exactly how much freedom he'll grow to have compared to his older siblings, and is in a unique position in which he knows full well the secretive dealings, profiteering and war histories of the family and is not immediately required to engage. Jacomo is headstrong, stubborn, and has a tendency to laugh things off. One would think he would be carefree, but the joviality belies a deeper truth: he had to grow up far too soon. He digs in his heels because it's all he can do as his family falls apart. It's what little control he can muster as a kid. He's frustratingly helpless, yet insists on being strong for those that remain in his family as old secrets and weaknesses come to light and as enemies close in on all sides. This want for control and stability is such an intense, desperate longing that Jac's first reaction to hearing about the family's rogue, cursed genes was - excellent. Now he can be a monster and hit back. Now he can protect them better. No more tragedy on his watch. That a child suffering a persistent blood-curse may in and of itself be a tragedy does not seem to have yet occurred to him. |
