• Description

  At 5'9", 140 lbs, Victor is an average size Italian-American New Yorker. His skin remains tan year round, and he keeps his black hair shaved close; a relic of his military service. Meli has piercing blue eyes, a trait that is all too often commented on by his female companions. He has a normal amount of various scars, though they can generally be found on his hands and fingers; wounds sustained in his uncle's butcher shop. He is lean, with slightly above average muscle tone, giving him an athletic look.
  
  Vic can normally be seen in a dress shirt, slacks, and dress shoes. He generally prefers to keep his dress shirt unbuttoned, and his sleeves rolled up. He's also well known to wear suspenders on most occasions, though he has a habit of letting them hang from his waist while he works. Vic, while normally a quiet, laid back type of guy, invested in a garish, green zoot suit. He wears the flashy ensemble on rare occasions out, and always makes an impression on those who see him.

• Biography

  Victor 'Vic' Meli was born, December 3rd, 1921, to Sicilian parents who sent their son to live with his uncle in New York on his fifth birthday. He was raised by his father's brother, Frank, in a small apartment above his butcher shop. At the age of fourteen, Vic became Frank's apprentice, and helped him while learning the butcher trade.
  
  Frank was close friends with Anthony Salerno, Boss of the Salerno crime family, and, unknown to Vic, acted as his Consigliere by keeping financial records of the family's illicit activities. Frank did his best to keep his less than savory side job from Vic, though he knew the boy was smart enough to know something was going on. When Vic finally asked his uncle about Salerno, Frank told him about the family and its illegal affairs. He told Vic to stay away from that lifestyle, as neither Frank, nor Vic's parents wanted that life for him.
  
  Unsure about his future, Meli joined the United States Army in 1940, and distinguished himself while fighting against the Japanese during the Second World War. He earned a Silver Star citation while serving with the 7th Infantry Division on Okinawa. Victor was promoted to the rank of Sergeant shortly thereafter, and retained the rank until he returned home December 1st, 1945.
  
  Upon returning home, Vic learned that his uncle had passed away in early November two years previous. He was the victim of an overzealous extortionist who wouldn't take no for an answer. Frank had left everything to the now 24 year old Vic. After taking care of his uncle's affairs, he was approached by a member of the Salerno family. Caporegime Paul Nicoletti offered Vic a position with the family as a soldier. Vic took the job quickly, eager to learn more about the family and its activities.
