Lysander Harcourt

In the circles of the nobility, the name Lysander Harcourt, or often that of Sir Bellamour, is oft whispered with a tinge of awe and wonder, falling from the lips with night similar reverence as the troll heroine Thyranna Sunshield. Yet Harcourt was not the same sort of savior as the bulwark of a warrior, instead he has gained renown over the centuries through his skill with magic and bow. While magic may be the preoccupation of House Eiluned, Scathach is hardly a stranger to the more arcane arts of the fae, and Harcourt's unusual talent for manipulating the mists and crafting complex illusions has been a great boon to both himself and his allies time and time again. When the time came for the sidhe to leave the physical world of humans behind for the depths of the Dreaming in Arcadia, he stayed behind like the rest of his house, to brave the maelstrom of banality alongside the commoner kiths. And like so many other fae, he adopted the Changeling Way. Whether it was an act of remarkable adaptability or shameful cowardice at the idea of a wasting death at the hands of banality is a question he has asked himself to this day.

Having lived as many lives as the average changeling who's managed to make it to the twenty-first century, Lysander has accrued more worldly experience than the average sidhe who's just returned from their extended holiday in Arcadia. Since the return of his kith into the waking world, Lysander has found himself less than welcoming towards his sidhe brothers and sisters, as they have seen fit to bring their political machinations and courtly theatrics along with them, and this time with a desperation to regain power and relevancy, even if it means loose interpretations of honorable conduct to get it. Disgusted with the fruitless efforts and petty rivalries of the houses, he has seen fit to withdraw into his own little corner of the Dreaming surrounded by the Mists with which he so loves to play. These days he is a hermit, only venturing out from his hideaway to stave off the threat of bedlam and to perform the odd helpful deed here and there in the city of Los Angeles. It is a quiet and lonely existence, but one he would choose any day over returning to the circus of fae politics and theaters of courtly love.

Yet House Scathach is not so content to leave their veteran magician be. There have been murmurings that its head of house, Lady Artemisia, has been skulking about looking for information on how to subvert the magic of the Mists, or perhaps more accurately, the magics of Sir Bellamour. To what end is any gossip's guess, yet there is power in names and even more in reputations. And Harcourt's yet bears significant weight, and to have such a warrior's prowess back in action would benefit more than just House Scathach.

Boon: Those of House Scathach are silent and efficient warriors. They rarely make any sound when fighting, causing great consternation in their foes. Once entering a fight, they lose sight of almost everything else, reaching a hypnotic “fugue state” in which the world seems to move more slowly. Because of the perceived time crawl in this state, they receive a +1 on all Brawl and Melee rolls and make stealth rolls at -1 difficulty.
Flaw: Most nobles look down upon House Scathach. All social rolls with other sidhe (except Fiona) and commoners with strong loyalist sympathies are at +2 difficulty. Furthermore, because of an ancient pact, Scathach are forbidden to use the Art of Sovereign. This ban is enforced by the full weight of the Dreaming.
