Aldrich Soarwing

If one were to look at Aldrich while he's in his rathalos armor, they'd notices his beautiful blue eyes. Though, that just about all that shows while he's wearing the armor. If someone were to spot him while out of his armor though, they'd notices his lightly tan skin, red hair, and somewhat old looking face. He looks good for his age, almost to good, which leads to a lot of questions being asked. His hair grows very fast, but he prefers to keep it shorter and tied up. His mouth holds a pair of fangs on the top and bottom row of his teeth, and his fingernails are sharp and black. Though he prefers to keep these filed down.

Aldrich Soarwing was one of the best noble monster hunters in the region. For years, he hunted monsters and instructed others to do the same, all to defend his region and bring honor to his family name. He was best known for taking down a frenzied rathalos in a battle that lasted hours. He even used the dragon's parts to make his armor. He was loved, adored, and nearly worshipped by his hometown, and he soaked it all in. He wasn't arrogant, but he was definitely ignorant.

There were people who disliked Aldrich's status. People who wish it was theirs's. People tried to warn him, but Aldrich merely brushed off their concerns. It was out of this envy that a wicked plot was formed.

One day, a day Aldrich remembers well, he was faced with a decision that would change his life, body, and mind. He remembers the smell of embers and the burning flesh of his own skin. He remembers how the blurry images of his attackers approached him with wicked glee.

"Make your choice, Aldrich. Burn, or become the one that burns for us."

He remembers saying 'yes' to their proposal.

The only thing he remembered after that was that his body was no longer human. In fact, he'd been transformed into one of the very monsters he hunted in the past. A rathalos. A rathalos with free will and a lust for revenge. The envious perpetrators didn't last long.

Aldrich knew this was on him. His ignorance nearly killed him—nearly made him a slave to some mere envious cretins and turned him into a monster, for lack of a better word.

He didn't want fame anymore. He didn't want glory, money, or worship. He wanted a second chance. So, while his family grieved the loss of their shining star, Aldrich trained his mind and both of his bodies. He learned to switch between monster and man, and he learned to accept his new life.

Nowadays, Aldrich travels the skies, the seas, the deserts, and the world. The wind beneath his wings is a feeling he'll never part with now. Both a monster and a man, he lives his life how he sees fit.

Aldrich was raised in a more noble household; thus, his manners are excellent, and he rarely speaks out of turn, even when speaking to more ghastly individuals. He doesn't throw insults, and he doesn't retaliate when insults are thrown his way. A mere turn of his head and the shine of his sword are more than enough to repel unwanted company. He's curt at times, though it's rare to see him lose his composure. At least when it comes to his human form. He can even be a bit jolly at the right times. If one were to wave him down for a drink, he'd take it with some extra pep in his step. Of course, in monster form, he's much more violent, and it takes extra effort to hold himself back if need be.

Aldrich can fit in any fantasy setting! High, mid, low, dark, any of that! While he is a Monster Hunter oc you don't need to know anything about MH to roleplay with me, nor does the roleplay have to take place in the MH universe. He's just a dude who can turn into a big 'ol wyvern/dragon.

Aldrich takes the form of a rathalos, a large flying wyvern that is orange in base color with blue scales trailing down its nose to the tip of its tail. It also possesses curved stripe markings on its wings. Its tail holds a cluster of sharp spines, with the largest always on the tip. It has blue eyes with slit pupils and what people describe as 'goblin-like' ears. Other than being able to speak, there is nothing that distinguishes Aldrich from regular rathalos.

In his human form, Aldrich fights with a sword and shield. He can block hits easily and use an item quickly if needed. In his rathalos form, he breathes fire, swings his tail, snaps his jaws, and stomps his talons to fight. His talons are highly poisonous. He's a strong flyer, and one flap of his massive wings can send people flying backwards with ease.

Aldrich is an experienced fighter, but he has one major weakness: lightening and other thunder-based abilities. They can cause serious damage to him as his biology reacts negatively to them. He's had to flee battles against those with storm-like abilities before. He will always try to pick his battles wisely, but if he must fight, he will.

Aldrich is incredibly proficient in crafting. While he doesn't have much use for the skill nowadays, a good antidote or potion could do wonders for someone else. It also helps to keep his hands busy.

Morphing is pretty simple for Aldrich. He can do it quickly and pretty much at will. His body gets engulfed in orange sparkles and his body takes shape into either monster or human form. It doesn't hurt him, but it makes it hard to transform inconspicuously. This can get him into some tight situations. Aldrich being Aldrich though, he'll find a strategic way of handling it.
