Velitnitsa

The Velitnitsa has provided a rare opportunity to the women of Porrus allowing them to serve their country outside of the church and the clerics. Some women join the Velitnitsa to serve as the Queen's eyes and ears, the secret police known as the Silent Inquisitors, the Queen's private guard. The Silent inquisitors go out into the city to root out evil and corruption, to find cultists, heretics, and all other people declared enemies of the state and have them put down with any evidence of their existence removed.

The Silent Inquisitor are powerful tools of propaganda and information, drawing the public eye away when they wish and continuing to support the Queen and theocracy as a whole. Uniquely the Velitla are loyal to the Queen first, and the church second, something almost unheard of within Porrus. The Silent Inquisitors stalk the night with the grace of hawks and ferocity of wolves, to serve the Queen and country.

The Merciful Ghost!

The Official defender of Leshcket is a mysterious and elusive individual, the Merciful Ghost is an entity of terrible implication that stalks the night protecting citizens in the cities and soldiers in the trenches. A guiding light and beacon of hope for the Porranian people, the Ghost has taken up arms to dispatch the Sarkic people in brutal fashion so that all may hear of her arrival and know their kind are no longer welcomed. Tearing through the Sarkics she will not find satisfaction until she’s knee deep in blood and gore. She paints the walls and streets openly with the blood of Sarkics and burns their splayed bodies, all to send a message. She is by far the most powerful and decorated of the Silent Inquisitors.

The Ghost is a mysterious almost ethereal spirit-like figure cloaked in a weightless black flowing cloud of silk and ribbon that engulf their body, obscuring them into a formless, shapeless, ghostly figure. Their face is hidden behind a mask of endless glittering stars and eyes show through them like shining smoke. The extent of the Ghost powers is unknown but she has been seen many times having powerful command over the wind.

Elite members of the silent inquisition are allowed to join the Ghost Division and become vessels to lesser spirits granting them new powers and abilities. Often these ghost serve as a kind of special forces that deal with eliminating high priority targets or defending the streets of their territories at night.

The cult of the phantoms is comprised of silent inquisitors who served in the Silk-maid society and have proved themselves to be effective champions against the corruption. One may ascend beyond the Ghost Division and join the court of phantoms by either surviving a hundred years of active service, or by promotion for exceptionally heroic deeds.

A member of the phantom court is born when a silent inquisitor of the ghost division is invited to the Queens garden of souls where she may become possessed by a spirit, or angel, that resides within. One may not choose which spirit represent them, one is chosen by their spirit. Should the silent inquisitor reject the phantom they will not be allowed to join the court.

There are as many possible phantoms as there are spirits inhabiting the garden of souls or angels in the heavens, should both members accept sharing a mutual semi-mortal form. Many of these spirits have terrifying origin and carry with them grim implications in the binding, though the faithful or zealous will sometimes accept the terrible consequences if it allows them to protect their home and Queen.
