Aisha Howard

Raised in the Bronx, Aisha's family never had much, but they never knew it. They were never poor, as such, but Aisha learned how to maintain a vehicle by helping her father keep repairing their old junker. It was repairable, so getting a newer car was a waste of money. New things were rare and treated as special; old things were treated well and repaired until they couldn't be. "Learning the value of a dollar" was among the sort of clichés that applied to her, and she knew it. She never minded.

While she hadn't started out aiming for the nomadic life, she sort of fell backward into it. An old van turned into an R.V. was bought for a song; she just needed to repair the engine, which she did in a few weekends and with a lot of sweating and cursing. As she worked on it, the fact that it had been turned into an R.V. kept running around her head. If she was careful, she could spend much, much less to live in the van than she already spent on her apartment. In the end, at twenty-six years old, she decided to go for it, so she packed up, hugged her family, and started off.

One of the first things she did was get a dog. She liked dogs, and her family hadn't often been able to support one. They had a dog when she was very young, so she remembered him, and the adventures they had together, from exploring a dense jungle in the back yard to fighting a harrowing battle against the united forces of her brother. Through friends, she learned of a Pit Bull named Buddy just past seven years old, who needed to be re-homed. His human had died and the other humans couldn't take care of him. Aisha met him, and it was love at first sight. When, as she approached the house, she saw the Buddy watching her through the screen door as he wagged his tail with a canine "smile", she knew he was going with her. A half-hour later she walked back to the van with her arms positively loaded with dog--stuff. Toys, health and hygiene, a pooper scooper that was like a crane claw--and him.

He had as long, as healthy, and as loving a life as a dog could have, and she didn't even think of getting another dog for years.

In north Texas, she saw someone head to the shelter with two Pit Bulls, and left without them. She still wasn't really wanting to get another dog, but--she knew what would happen. They'd just sit there in that shelter. An hour and a half later she was being walked by two Pit Bull brothers just under a year old. She was laughing as they went; they weren't really pulling, at least not out of lack of concern. They were happy, they were curious, they wanted to smell all the things, so she couldn't really be upset with them.

Not long after she started to make adult videos and photo shoots. It was fun as she got to be her own boss, not have to work with skeeves who leered at her through a camera, or any of that. Anywhere she was or wanted to be could be the photo studio; she had enough of an exhibitionist streak to enjoy making her content outside and having people pay her for it. The first few years were difficult; she had the usual, various ways of payment set up, but it was a hassle. Trying to get her content into the right hands was more of a pain than she really wanted. She'd been toying with the idea of just calling it quits when she heard of a new social media platform just starting up--OnlyFans.

That proved to be almost a godsend. Everything was easier; there were different ways to pay through the app, so a user could decide what they wanted. Through OnlyFans, she managed to add more money to her bank account than she was taking out, and she was getting a nice little following. She had a good income, doing something she enjoyed, and over the years the Pit Bulls proved to be the best things that happened to her, and she hoped the reverse was true, too.

Aisha knew the power and utility of money, so she immediately set up a bank account with higher interest rate and safe-but-low-yield stocks. The income let her able to afford an Internet connection set-up, so she was able to continue providing content, and it had been one of the best decisions she'd ever made.

She had enough money to live on, she had her dogs, and she had her van. It was time to see what else was out there.
