    • Secure the life and liberty of every American and enable their pursuit of happiness.
    • Support the armed forces in maintaining the territorial sovereignty of the United States.
    • Investigate and resolve threats both foreign and domestic.
    • Maintain the readiness of the American people to defend American territory.
    • Keep the peace of the nation.
    (Many rangers will posit that the five points on their star represent these five points, that is however a myth popularized long after the design was made)

  • Field Strategies and Tactics

    Naval Support:
      The U.S.R. does not operate a navy, they only operate a naval support fleet which is not practically geared towards actual naval battles though can provide excellent support for the U.S. Navy or similar allied force. The Maritime Bureau operates cargo vessels where the flat deck has been converted to a miniature airfield where it may launch one of its three aircraft mostly used for air reconnaissance and bombing with minor ability to dogfight. They also operate monitor ships that are heavily armored and armed with three inch guns in a revolving turret post which provide a small deal of strength against other vessels while being excellent as a shore bombardment weapon for close support. Transport vessels enable the rangers to be anywhere in the world they need to be from the headquarters office in a week and from foreign stations in one day's time.

    Aerial Support:
      The Aviation Bureau is primarily utilized and aimed towards ground support and troop mobility. By use of balloons and a technique named "fast roping" troops are able to rappel into hard to reach locations form above while larger cargo airliners enable them to parachute from high altitudes getting into otherwise difficult territory without alerting their foe. Their aircraft performing bombing runs and attacking the ground with small arms provide in effect a form of advanced artillery as well as superiority of fire.

    Strategy of the Firefight:
      The major tactic of the rangers in force on force conflict at the ground level is high intensity rapid mobility "maneuver warfare" where they utilize their simplistic logistics of having most every small arm they utilize in the same caliber to enable sustained fighting in austere environments by prioritizing which weapons to feed over others instead of solely relying on what caliber of ammunition is on hand. The goal of the tactic is to focus solely on striking and end the fight before the enemy can cope with the intensity, should that fail besieging them is the secondary task.

    Every Ranger Is A Gunslinger:
      Every ranger regardless of occupation in the agency is trained to outstanding proficiency with a hand gun, while those who are in an operative bureau must possess acceptable proficiency with a long gun. Re-qualifications are done annually and only the most recent score is counted, those who fail the qualification are re-assigned from all cases and actions to the Marksmanship Branch of the Training Bureau where they will train until they can exhibit acceptable scores and be returned to their bureau and branch.
