  • CLASS D

    Class D- Regenerative Immortal
    While immortality is merely conceptual, it is theoretically possible for the 'immortal' to die, under very specific circumstances. Depending on their classification, they vary in their immortality and how it presents. Some are unaffected by age, blood loss, can reform themselves from a meaty pulp, or are even present in noncorporeal form.

    Class D refers to regenerative immortals that are unaffected by age past a certain point(usually a point of conversion). They are able to regenerate with varying speeds but have material forms that can be affected by implants, bindings, and other physical limitations. There is some question on whether Class D can be killed through complete incineration, but this theory seems to have varying results, with some particularly weak to fire and others more resilient.

    Class D have been killed before, though, but the method relates to the method immortality was reached(as Class D are not originally immortal). Killing them is possible with study and time, and in the meanwhile they can be subdued by deprivation of an environment their bodies can regenerate in to maintain dormancy till full termination is able to be achieved. Still, studying a dead subject lacks the information often needed to terminate the immortal being, and as such, short periods of life may be required in order to derive further information for a successful termination.
    Other Classes
    While Navaan is Class D, there are technically 5 classes of immortals.

    Class A- Unknown origin, ageless, timeless, immaterial or unmoving. They do not fit within the idea of life as many know it and are far from anything humanoid or even organic. They are often more akin to planets and stars than any living being, but they are sentient in some aspect. They are considered nondangerous and unable to be communicated with through any language known to mortals. They cannot be damaged, and thus regenerative properties are entirely theoretical.

    Class B- Varying origin, ageless, material and varying between inorganic and organic beings. These are the oldest sapient immortal beings and can come in a variety of forms but are never humanoid as they are older than humanity as a species. Some examples are sentient mold-like colonies, hive minded bacteria, and on rare occasion, slug-like creatures that can have started out small but grown to impossible sizes. These beings can sometimes be communicated with, but often do not see reason to. Still, some have learned humanoid languages and used them to speak, but what they say is often beyond mortal comprehension. Methods of termination are possible as these beings rarely meet significant threats and as such do not regenerate with the same speed as other classes.

    Class C- Natural born immortal beings, age variable, often material forms and always organic in some capacity, either in current state or in origin. These beings may come in humanoid forms unlike previous classes. While there are a variety that inhabit this class, these immortals are not converted into immortality but born into it. They may still experience a maturation period, though this is but a speck in their existence and there are none younger than a thousand years and records are under review. These immortal beings are sometimes capable of regeneration but are most often resistant to damage. These immortal beings may interact with mortal populations, often have a language they originated with and have more comprehensive speech that mortals can understand. Termination has been found possible, but only in 2 cases with no success of replication in other members in this classification.

    Class D- Converted immortals, stuck at the age of conversion, material form, always organic mortals in origin but may become an inorganic immortal in the process. Methods vary considerably, but this class has a much higher success rate of termination due to their lowered resistance to damage and relatively 'young' lifespans(less than 5000 years) that allow for historical records of their creation to still be recoverable. Often their method of creation is tied with considerable weaknesses with some common types being silver, iron, water, light, fire, and specific sound frequencies. Language of origin almost always present, though method of conversion may render subject with incoherent thought patterns. Mental faculties are often compromised and subject to manipulation. Regeneration is more common than resistance to damage and some can be terminated entirely if all organic material is destroyed or converted to inorganic material.

    Class E- Converted immortals, stuck at the age of conversion, immaterial form, no longer organic or material. These immortals are often crudely considered 'ghosts' in layman terms. These beings exist in a state of undeath and the classification of being alive is highly debated among the field, given their conversion to immortality occurs at the point of death and releases their sentience from their material body which rots as expected. Often maintained through some artificial means that can be destroyed if found, these immortals are not able to be damaged and thus regeneration and resistance are not applicable. Termination is instantaneous once the conduit maintaining them is destroyed. Low priority, often unable to affect the material realm and minimal effect on mortals.

  • What to Expect

    With patience like Death itself, Navaan is used to playing the long, waiting game. He may still be subject to many of the flaws that mortals are born with, to the disappointment of other immortals, but there's only so much of your nature you can abandon. His body still works much like it did before his immortality, and thus, it sways him. Pain, hunger, thirst, suffocation, loneliness... he can't escape these things, even if he may have a higher tolerance for them than others.

    Low class, low brow, and uninterested in that pompous superiority other immortals have, Navaan instead lingers in pettiness. He's not finished in this world, and he's not going to spend centuries lounging about, doing something frivolous or building a cult following like some. He's on a mission, and he intends to fulfill it.

    Regardless of what anatomy he holds, he remains male-identifying. As such, he can be played as cisgender, transgender, intersex or endosex. He doesn't tend to have tits, but you can request them.
    Given his inhuman state, he can have separate sexes depending upon his form, and has enough control to do as desired.
