Carla Radames

Carla didn't have an easy childhood, she grew up in a single-parent family, being brought up only by her emotionally unstable mother. Identity of her father is unknown. Carla since the earliest years of her life didn't experience motherly love. She was left all alone, her mother didn't show any interest towards her only child. Girl was growing up in a sense of isolation and exclusion and quickly learned self-reliance. Most of her time she spent reading books and soon found out that she has a vivid imagination and interest in exact science.

Carla was a brilliant child, almost as brilliant as famous Alexia Ashford. At the age of twelve, she had knowledge highly above the average level, so one of her teachers organized her private lessons allowing the girl to further extending her knowledge. Talented girl quickly enchained the attention of one of the local scientists. Derek C. Simmons, a well-known scientist, philanthropist, and great businessman, helped her to get out of her sad existence. In her, man saw more than an ordinary teenager, for him, Carla was great capability that could be used as an advantage for Corporation. She could be a perfect worker.

Sense of her loneliness and rejection slowly started becoming stronger, as her age-mates avoided her, considering her as a weirdo. After her mother committed suicide, Carla was taken in by her stern aunt who decided to take care of her. However soon, woman was tired of girl's antisocial behavior. Since this time she had been bouncing around foster homes holding poor and even negative relationships with her guardians, who were discouraged by her lack of interest and unusually gloomy attitude.

Carla was noticed during the prototype test created in order to find gifted individuals and give them a chance to get the scholarship. But instead, Carla got Simmons. She devoted herself to research provided by him. Two years later, she earned a Bachelor of Microbiology and took part in the Md-PhD program, joining thereby to the "Family" association, their connections and institutions funded by them. She started her Medicine studies.

At the age of nineteen, she earned doctorate. The topic of her work was evaluated by people who knew what Progenitor Virus is, however, because of unauthorized content of her work, it was never published. Her thesis still exists and says about infinite metamorphosis and boundless human potential.

Long time passed before Carla could understand the constitution of the virus. Even after she got fully and mastery knowledge about Progenitor Virus, there were still so many possibilities for its usage. Virus was still a challenge, something that she's grown quite fond of and even obsessive over.

In 2001, at the age of fifteen, she presented to Derek her conceptualization of the Chrysalid Virus.

Her personal aim of this project was to earn his approval, and she was ready to earn it by any means necessary. Simmons was the man who handed her opportunities and made her future ensured. From that point, every fiber of her being was pushed her to please Derek Simmons, to make him happy and proud of her. She wanted to be worthy of his attention to such an extent that she became obsessed with this man.

In her eyes, Derek Simmons personified all these feelings and character features that she missed in others, especially in her mother. He was smart, emollient, elegant, educated… He seemed to be the only one who really took care of her and mind her own fate. Blinded by her fascination, she couldn't see that she was only a tool, a puppet that was doing everything that Derek wanted.

Works on Project Ada left a terrible toll on Carla's emotions. Woman willingly killed many of the failed (and even successful clones). Ada became an icon of her successes and failures, her rival who didn't belong or exist in her world yet. When Carla realized that the object of her fascination, her muse, her mentor was interested in another woman, Ada Wong, she became more and more reluctant and envious of her. In Carla's distorted visions of the real world always appeared Ada. Everytime Ada was the matter. At the time she became more desolate and solitary than ever before.

Her obsession with the virus reached culmination and she started experimenting on her own body. She felt a profound necessity to improve her great work and also herself. She injected samples of her own genome to virus' cultures, successfully signed her work, and became the only author of it.

April 29th, 2009 – Derek took advantage of Carla and conscripted her into Project Ada, killing her.

April 30th, 2009 – Carla was reborn again as Ada Wong.

Simmons brainwashed Carla and this greatly influenced her personality, which became coarse and violent. Her already questionable sanity was damaged. Derek kept her in isolation, away from other people, treating her like a child, coercing her into a romantic affair. At the beginning, the whole situation seemed to be positive, but quickly spiraled out of control and things turned into a horrible situation.

Carla gradually started falling into psychosis and refused to talk with anyone, she heard voices with which she could speak for endless hours. Degeneration of her behavior and mind led to many extremely violent situations with Derek Simmons. Quarrels, fighting, and abuse. Reborn as Ada Wong, woman never doubted who she was, but she often questioned the validity of her relations with Derek.

Finally, Carla listened to all the voices she was hearing and became mysteriously "better". She manipulated gifts out of Derek, with sex, favors, and sweet words. It helped her form an organization behind his back and his entire "Family". When she found out the truth about her "accident" she snapped and swore revenge.

Carla's hatred for Simmons consumed her. In Simmons she saw every filthy pig, every disgusting thing a human was capable of, and she labeled him as an average man. Misanthropy rotted her mind and now she loathed people. However, she has a few selected who were tolerated by her. Tolerated, but not liked. Accustomed to the fact that people fulfilled her whims, she easily could manipulate them to get what she wanted.
