Jan Deerwood

Jan wasn't always Jan. During her teen years living under the thumb of her father - the local sheriff- and trying desperately to be anything but a mini version of her father Jan found herself drawn to edgier scenes. Shaving her head, black eyeliner, and piercings with less than sterile needles in her friend's basement. Jan's form of self expression was combat boots and drinking on the roof of the apartment complex she lived in. She was brash and unable to hold her tongue in a argument anywhere, with the exception of her own home. Any disagreements with her father was more pain than it was worth and once her half brother- Sina - starting living with them she had someone else to look out for.

Jan endured years of harsh treatment when the summer before he became a adult her father fell victim a unfortunate accident. What happened that night is something Jan has never told another person and intends to keep it a secret until the day she dies. It wasn't long after that Jan's mother took her own life. This is another incident that Jan had not spoken to anyone about and intends to keep deep inside of her.

With nothing left for her in this city Jan uprooted her life and moved to California. The living was expensive and Jan meanwhile was struggling to put herself through college. Slowly- bit by bit- Jan stripped herself of her protective hard shell and starting living a life she was much more comfortable in. Working part time, saving money, and scraping by with funding from a mysterious benefactor Jan's hair grew past her shoulders and her makeup became far less intense.
