Only being raised by her mother, it was always only those two. In a daydream, the perfect daughter and the perfect mother. Each other's best friends, each other's only one. Always being the odd ones, known as the ‘’weird family’’. And they were. No one knew them, no one had ever talked to them. They only talked to each other. Her mother working two jobs just to survive. Growing up in a trailer park. Sounds like a shame. And it was a shame. A full 180 when an older and rich man fell for her mothers beauty. Who would ever have thought? Taking them out of their miserable and pathetic life, leaving the trailer park like it was never their home. Moving in on the other side of town, she felt like an outcast. But loving her new life slowly became a lifestyle. Getting used to expensive clothes and always going to bed full. Upper class, it sounds like a dream. Everyone's dream, everyone's goal in life. Or so she thought. Her new step father slowly turning into a monster, calling her mother shameful names and hitting her once she herself had gone to bed. She could hear her, she could hear her screams. Being all blue and red the next day. Not a coincidence. The older she got, the more she understood. This was not living, this was surviving. Her mother marrying him, only to get her daughter into the most expensive schools and to keep the money in their name. From the weird family to family everyone envied. A big joke. She knew what she had to do. Moving out once she could afford her own apartment. Never really speaking to her mother, she let her down. Always being something no one really understood; always just so focused on her past. All the people and things she had to allow in her life. Always taking extra care of herself, love was always an issue. All men are the same. Never met or heard of a good one. Everyone just having sex and falling in love, and then there was her. She wanted to, but she never allowed herself into it. Always being afraid of the result. Never wanting to be seen as an object or a nodding doll. No, this woman right here, she’s way more than that. A lawyer, at least she will be. Solving cases that can’t be solved, that can’t be proved. Not caring at all, she wants the power, she wants the control. A fair game. |
