As the third born child, but first born daughter of the Montagne family, there were a lot of hopes for her prospects and the connections she might help bridge for the infamous lineage one day. However, from a young age it became very clear she was not going to live up to those aspirations, as she possessed numerous issues and ‘limitations’ that would hold her back and make it difficult for her to have a normal life.

Whenever Amecia would speak, her voice was barely audible and she would physically have to strain it to the point of pain in order for others to hear her. On top of that, every single sentence was full of stutters and pauses, as if the act of speaking itself was physically draining and took a lot of energy out of her. It was at this point her twin brother, Lucien, started to distance himself from her because he thought her struggles were contagious, or would bring ill fortune upon the family. So Henri stepped in, concerned for his sister’s wellbeing and attempted to help her through her ‘limitations’, as he called them.

But just as Amecia started to show signs of making a little bit of progress, the unthinkable happened. Her parents were murdered in their own bed as they slept by an assassin who had disguised himself as a servant for months. After that, Amecia put her own problems and wishes aside and it became clear to her siblings she wasn't going to get 'better'. This was something she'd have to live with her whole life.

Compared to her family, as well as a large majority of the population, Amecia is miniscule. She comes to a full height of four foot and ten inches. Everyone except for young children seem to tower over her, and her incredibly petite frame makes her appear very delicate and fragile. People often treat her as if she’s made of glass.

She is very slender with an hourglass shaped figure and has pale, smooth skin which lacks any signs of imperfections. Her hair is a striking shade of white (and reaches the base of her spine) which has become a symbol of the Montagne family, as well as chilling grey eyes which a lot of people find intimidating upon first impressions.

As a woman of noble birth, Amecia tends to wear clothing that shows her status…but only because it is what is purchased for her by her older brother. Her wardrobe consists entirely of gowns made of the finest material money can buy, but they are not overly extravagant or covered in intricate designs, remaining modest instead.

Due to the way she has been shielded from the general population by her brothers, Amecia is a very socially anxious individual. The idea of going out in public makes her very nervous, and makes her speaking impediment a lot worse due to the pressure and unknown elements she is facing. Because of this, she tends to prefer remaining at Montagne Manor whilst her siblings go out and attend the various social functions, only attending herself if it is imperative to do so. But during those occasions where she has to go out, she is very on edge and skittish. It takes very little to make her panic or become overwhelmed in that kind of environment.

When away from the judgemental gaze of the public, Amecia is a little more confident in herself but she does experience a lot of doubt and hesitation in most of her day to day experiences. Even with very simple things like approaching her siblings to see if they want to go for a walk with her, worried that she might be bothering them when they’re preoccupied with something important, even if she can see they’re doing nothing at the time. You could say she’s a bit of an overthinker, someone who dreams up the worst case scenarios about everything she does. But she never assumes the worst of anyone except herself - always having faith in others.

Probably one of her concerning qualities is how selfless she can be. Amecia will never hesitate to put the needs of someone else before her own, refusing to speak up if she’s made uncomfortable by something or someone because she doesn’t want to upset or offend them. She will go out of her way to help the people she cares about, even if it affects her own health in the process. She will willingly burn the candle at both ends to take care of the people most important to her and sacrifice her own time and energy for as long as is needed, even if it leaves her running on fumes.

On a particularly cold February evening, Lady Montagne went into labour with twins. At ten in the evening, her son Lucien was born - perfectly healthy and the spitting image of his father. His birth was easy and without complication. But the younger twin was proving difficult to deliver. Several hours passed, each one that went by, making the Lady Montagne very tired and increasingly weak. But at four in the morning, her daughter Amecia was born. She was considerably smaller than her brother, and looked very fragile. Doctors put it down to Lucien receiving more nutrients in the womb, and that in time Amecia would regain her strength.

Years passed, but there was no change. The little girl only seemed to become weaker and more vulnerable. If she got too cold, she would become very sick. If there was ever a cold, virus or illness going around she would always catch it and barely recover, often taking weeks or even months to get it out of her system. This, naturally, caused her parents a lot of concern over whether or not she would make it to adulthood. On top of this, she was not developing as quickly as her siblings had. It took her twice as long to learn how to walk and talk, and when she finally started to speak, it was very clear that there was a complication there as well.

It wasn’t until the following morning, when one of the maids came in to wake them, that their bodies were discovered and the news quickly spread across the land. Amecia’s brother Henri was made the new Viscount Montagne and was tasked with managing the estate and the family almost instantly after he was given the news about his parents murder. After that, his attempts to help Amecia lessened.

After that, Amecia put her own problems and wishes aside. Instead, she focused on looking out for her younger siblings, Matthieu and Estelle, as well as doing whatever she could to make things easier for her older brothers as they found themselves with a lot of new responsibilities placed upon their shoulders. Lucien no longer made any attempts to mock or torment her because of her struggles, instead he was supportive and comforting but unlike Henri he didn’t attempt to help with her struggles. Instead, he became selfish and only followed his own desires, leaving Amecia and Henri to watch over and guide their younger siblings.

As time went on, it became clear to Amecia and her siblings that she wasn’t going to get better. Most of her teenage and early adult years were spent either in solitude, or bed ridden because of how susceptible she was to germs. Henri became somewhat protective over her, keeping her interactions with staff very limited to reduce the risk of contamination. Thanks to this, she became very anxious and reclusive, her struggles increasing. Her body became weak very easily, after a minimal amount of movement, her immune system was incredibly fragile and delicate and her voice was even more sensitive after a while of not using it.

Now, in her twentieth year of life, her life has taken a very sudden and drastic turn. War has been declared against their realm, from a force far too powerful for them to defeat on their own. Her brother Henri proposes an alliance with a nearby land who have the forces they need to win this war, but in exchange Henri offers Estelle’s hand in marriage to the ruler/son’s ruler. However, the man makes it very clear he does not want to marry Estelle, but the elusive, mysterious Montagne sister instead, Amecia. Knowing the fate of their lands depend on this union, Amecia has no choice but to agree to these demands and accept the marriage proposal.
