Darcy Jahn - R.I.P

  • Darcy Jahn Dead at Age 18

    Darcy Jahn was an avid surfer and he died doing what he loved. The waves were big and crushing due to a storm offshore, and every surfer who had the daring was out to take on the curls. Darcy made two successful runs, and was going to quit for the day before deciding to go out once more. A harmonic wave rolled under him and threw his balance, and the curl flipped him high. His dive into the ocean unfortunately was into the shallow and Darcy Jahn hit his head on the bottom and broke his neck. An attempt by another surfer and a lifeguard to revive him, but when the fire department aid car arrived, he was pronounced dead at the scene, died on impact.

      "Thgrieve.pngHi Darcy. It was so sudden when you left this world over a year ago, and this last year has been hard. I still hurt knowing I will never again be able to hug you. I want you to know I will always love you, and I'm hoping that the surf is always good there in heaven. I know you want me to be happy.

      The other day I met a guy named Quinn. He's nice and sweet and has a sense of humor like yours. I think you would like him... well, not if you were still here and he was trying to steal me away, but you know... you know what I mean. Anyway, I like him... I know I have to let you go Darcy, but it is so hard. Tell me you love me and it's ok... please? You will always be a part of me Darcy... always. You were and always will be my first true love. Nothing can change that..."

      "The news spread quickly among our surfing community. Darcy was always a good guy ever since we met in 7th grade. He was a good friend and a good surfer, as he hung on to the wave we rode before this accident whereas I didn't. My fall was far but the wave had began to wash and I fell further out. Darcy was a wave-trooper, and I will always remember my fun friend. Rest in Peace Darcy."
