☀Recovering from being Shitty ™☀
Eli as you meet them now is... Well for a lack of a better term, a fucking asshole. But a recovering asshole at the very least (hah). Life has never been kind to this cleric, and never presented many opprotunities to make friends. It's a dog-eat-dog world out there, and it was either adapt or die. However, after joining an adventuring group they are slowly learning to love and be loved. They still have bad habits to break, but for now it's not so scary caring for another person now.

Eli's life on the streets started at a young age and has made the cleric wiser than most. They know what people expect and how to use those expectations to their advantage if they need to. It also makes them a nuisance at the best of times. Every word, every motion, every look on their face can be used for their own agenda; and they've been doing this for so long it's kind of become second nature.
☀An Honest Liar☀
Being a liar is, to some, safer than being honest. For Eli, lying kept them fed, clothed, and safe. For the most part. But in the coming years people have shown Eli enough kindness for them to feel safe enough to be honest when they truly want to, a feat not managed by most. Unfortunately true honesty comes with a balance of kindness in turn, something that Eli hasn't quite mastered yet. Thus, when the mask comes off, Eli blunders through social expectations with the best of them. To them, honesty is a kindness that friends deserve and sometimes... well let's just say they put their feet in their mouth quite a bit. If ever befriended, expect to be told how it is even if it's not what's needed.
☀Loyal to a Fault☀
Since friends are so hard to come by Eli will protect the ones they have tooth and nail. Too many things have been taken from them before not to warrant being a bit... over protective. Still, you can count on Eli to want nothing but the best for you, and if you ever find yourself in face of an enemy there's no better person to call to have your back. As with everything about Eli, this loyalty has a fault all its own. It's easy to use their own love and loyatly against them for personal gain because Eli's never had the best examples of these concepts to begin with. It's hard to see the horns on another's head when your own pair makes them look like halos.

Elijah is a cleric for Arakshabal, a sun goddess of generosity, mercy, and medicine. Her entire religion is founded on free medical services for all regardless of background, and to recieve any sort of compensation for these services is strictly forbidden. Eli takes their clerical duties very seriously, and studies medicine with the diligence of something fierce. If Eli ever had to die for one principle, it would be this one: No doctor worth their salt would ever take money to save a life.
