Reign of Lore

Thief: Reign is an accomplished burglar capable of climbing, picking locks, moving silently and other thiefly things.

Spellcasting: Reign is not a traditional wizard. She had few attack spells. Most of her spells are supplemental and useful in enhancing her thiefly abilities. However, she can snatch spells from a wizard's personal weave adding them to her own. Once used they are lost forever or until she streaks another copy from another wizard's mind.

Courtly Manners: Sometimes the easiest way past a wizard's defenses are through the front door. Reign can portray a noblewoman.

Artificial Eye: Reign lost her right eye. Now she has a few artificial eyes that can be fitted into the empty socket.

• Arcane Eye: A blue hired eye.
  Magical items, Runes and Glyphs are available to see when she whispers the word, "Occulta reverum"
• Tracking Eye: By opening the eyeball and placing in a piece of hair, or piece of a treasured item, Reign can see that person no matter how far away and through objects.
• Dragon Eye: Sporting a red pupil, once per day the Dragon Eye will unleash a blast of witch fire.

Rayne was born in the city of Lore. The city of Lore was a small city of magi, a Haven for wizards, sorcerers and artificers. As a result, the culture mostly revolves around supporting these mages in their endevours. There she was born to a chandler and an apothecarist who specializes in making different inks. Both of which were highly in demand.

Eventually Reign's mother caught the eye of one of these would-be gods, a man named Miirden, and her father was killed to widow her mother. In retaliation Reign's mother accepted his advances but when she tried to kill him using poisoned tallow she couldn't find a way to excuse herself and breathed deeply, taking in the poison and died. Moradin lived, but just barely.

Reign learned a lot about human nature from that. She was already well loved by many of the local wizards, she filched small things from them, nothing very valuable, and they let her. They found it amusing. More surprising was when she smuggled them back!

She was learning a bit of magic too and when her parents died she became Lore's only thief. Operating or of her parents' old shop she started using what little magic she had learned to bypass the wards and defenses of the wizards she liked least and took their stuff. Reselling things could be tricky but every wizard had a number of rivals so it was a delicate matter but not impossible.

In time, she learned to steal the very spells from someone's personal weave. She could then cast then herself, giving her acess to magics she couldn't quite comprehend or commit them to scroll and sell them.

Then, when she was ready she went after Miirden. He put it her eye and she took off his arm, making it quite difficult to cast spells.
