Cherith Asturias

Cherith is the product of a forbidden union between Fae and Humans: a hybrid known as 'Droxolae'. These offspring are considered sinful and demonic, as they are born with horns and are believed to wield dark magic, granted to them by the Devil himself. By Royal Decree, all hybrids are hunted down and executed when their existence becomes known to the court. However, no one has ever confirmed these theories about Droxolae.

After her mother died, Cherith took up the mantle of 'Witch of the Lake'. However, due to her heritage, her identity has been kept a secret, and her face has never been revealed. She constantly wears a hooded cloak to conceal her horns. Many believe that the witch of the lake has been alive for centuries, unaware the mantle has been passed down through four generations since Cherith's family has lived and worked there.

Despite the potential her hybrid genes presented, Cherith has stopped growing beyond five foot in height, making her rather miniscule in both human and fae standards. Because of her short stature and thin frame, she appears very weak and delicate to those who manage to catch glimpses of her body beneath the cloak. As a result of living on her own, Cherith has not taken proper care of herself and become slightly underweight. Because of this, most of her limbs are rather thin and fragile looking. Whilst her health does not dip into anorexic or dangerous territory, she is not far off being that way.

Her skin is on the pale side, due to a lack of regular exposure to sunlight. Out of fear, she always wears her cloak when she goes outside, just in case someone across the lake sees a woman with horns and reports her to the royal court. She has natural freckles that litter her cheeks and across the bridge of her nose. She also has permenant markings on her face that represent the witch lineage of her mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. For humans, these markings were used as proof of their magic gifts but because of her horns, Cherith is unable to do so as easily, otherwise she risks being executed.

Cherith's hair is extremely long, coming to a stop roughly just beneath her rear. It also changes in colour, the further down each strand you go. Towards the top, it is a very pale shade of blue that could almost be considered white. As you decend, her hair gets slightly darker, becoming a shade close to ice blue, before eventually becoming a darker, vivid shade of glacial blue. Because of it's length, Cherith does not typically style it, or wear it up, but merely leaves it to hang loosely so as not to waste any time.

Although most do not catch a glimpse of them, those that do will describe Cherith as having a pair of striking and captivating grey eyes, with flakes of glacial blue flakes in them. She inherited both her unusual hair and eyes from her father, due to his fae genetics being stronger and more dominant than her mother's human genes. Additionally, the horns she bears due to her mixed genes are also quite distinctive, although they are always hidden from prying eyes. Black in colour, they curl off her head in a similar shape and style to that of a ram's horns. For her own benefit, Cherith has wrapped vines around them to make them look 'less depressing' and 'evil'. They are her biggest (physical) insecurity.



During her youth, Cherith had very few interactions with people outside of her family. As a result, she has become shy and somewhat reclusive, lacking any proper social skills outside of her business practices. When she becomes nervous, or flustered, she tends to stutter and struggle to find the right words in order to express what she is thinking or how she is feeling. This is why she keeps most of her conversations brief, with simple yes or no answers that prevent her from getting to this point, not just for her own comfort but to ensure she doesn't lose any of her clients due to a lack of professionalism.

Beneath her awkwardness, Cherith is quite the intelligent and creative young woman, who has brought new remedies and potions to her family's business thanks to her mental prowess. Rather than being set in her ways, she is open to try new things and explore different options. It's hard for her to feel defeated, with a sense of drive and dedication that would challenge most people within the realm of Mikliros. However, this also translates to stubbornness, which has repeatedly had an effect on her own physical wellbeing.

The nature of her heritage has led Cherith to be a cautious individual, someone who makes sure she does everything she can to keep her true identity a secret. She is also rather skittish and easily spooked, which is also because of all the years she's spent living alone. Not having had the chance to guage different personalities and behaviours, she struggles to get a good read on people. Also, because she is a witch, Cherith is unable to lie. Her mother said this is the price one pays for being able to wield magic.
