Homeland: Born in the coastal town of Alicia, which is built upon the ancient ruins of Halykiai, on the island of Sicily.

Family: Only Father, Sebastian Jiovanni, is still alive. Has an older sister named Katerina, Has a twin brother named Enrico. The twin brother is Caliban, has features described as simian and unnerving.

The major defining event of his early years: As a boy, Jeorgio often enjoyed accompanying his father’s ship as the cabin boy. It allowed him to see all manner of places and wondrous things. But on a particular trip, his father’s vessel was caught in a sudden storm. During the maelstrom, Jeorgio was carried overboard into the sea. Caught in the rolling waves and storm...he began to drown. Due to his small stature, his body was tossed back out of the sea by another wave, which allowed him to be saved. HE lay on the decks, lifeless, his father beating the boy's chest to force the water out of his lungs. His first mate thought the boy dead, but then Jeorgio sputtered and vomited, fighting to live. Death had come for him, and he was pried back from the brink. It instilled a defiant will in the boy, and unbeknownst to him...stirred something sleeping in the boy’s genes.

Adolescence

Training: In no small part to the defiant nature instilled in him after his brush with death, young Jeorgio began to fall in more with some of the more cunning company his Mother knew. Different “uncles” show the boy a few tricks and talents they used in their line of work. This was tempered by the time he spent with his father on his ship, learning from the weathered sailors the ins and outs of their profession. In his teens, the lad was shaping up to be a talented scout and a deft infiltrator. This earned him an invitation to an apprenticeship to one of the free companies, where his budding talents and skill could be better nurtured.

An awakened force: The brush with death had another effect, a strange and horrifying consequence that Jeorgio had never expected, nor was prepared for. The dreams. Intense, fragmentary, and horrific. Strange and alien architecture. Darkness and dampness that felt like it was smothering you. Unseen eyes, peered at his naked body as if he were little more than meat. Inscrutable faces with unfathomably cold eyes, inhuman and tentacled. Pain, searing white-hot electricity being driven into his brain and nerves like jagged glass needles. Each time he experienced one of these dreams he awoke screaming, his skin cold and drenched in sweat. And each time either his mother or his sister was there to tell him it was just a dream, that he was safe. And each time the dreams came he swore he could feel something stirring in his veins, and that his senses felt like they increased in such potency that he could smell the alcohol lingering in the wine cellar from his room, or the sound of birds flying overhead as loud as a shout.

Mentor: Leonardo Botticelli, talented duelist, spy, and officer. This man was a harsh taskmaster, a wayfarer who had trained with blade-dancers from the arid Spice Lands, and swordsmen from the Far Orient. And he was a good friend and teacher. “Life is hard, yet without its harshness it would have no flavor. A rose could not be so beautiful if it had no thorns.” He pushed Jeorgio to seize life and never pass a chance to experience something new, in addition to honing his skills.

The Scarlet Garden Incident: Jeorgio’s life as a young man was defined by a singular event, driven by a singular man. Augustino Diego, the local Judge and self-proclaimed Embodiment of the Law. In hushed circles, the man knew another name. The Inquisitor. His alliances had been ruthless, routing and driving out any and all those who would stand in his way of power. This put him into conflict with Giovanna Famiglia, and in turn, put Jeorgio’s mother in the crosshairs of his men. And tragedy struck, as under the orders of the Inquisitor his mother’s fencing warehouse was barred shut and set on fire. Everyone inside the warehouse was killed, including his mother. Devastated, and burning with pure hate, Jeorgio set a plan into motion. He and two associates spent several nights observing the Inquisitor in his home. Entrances were scouted, guard habits and rotations studied, and the daily habits of the Judge noted. Along with his family, there was nothing that the three did not leave to chance in learning about their target. On a moonless night, they made their moves. The associates served as a distraction while Jeorgio infiltrated the manse. In the walled garden, he stalked The Judge, before catching up to him and running him through with his scimitar. Nothing but pure revenge. As his vendetta lay on the ground, turning the flowers red with his blood, Jeorgio poured oil in and around the dying man’s body. Just as he took his last breaths he set the Judge on fire, giving him the very death he’d given to his mother. Covering his tracks, he left the manse garden to burn. And within a day he was on a ship, leaving his home and his deed behind.

Adulthood

Earning his way as a sailor and agent of the East India Trade Company gave young Jeorgio purpose, and the connections that his familial ties gave him were useful in establishing himself within the company. However, his dreams and the eldritch power that thrummed through his veins would not grant him any peace. Their psychic emanations began to affect reality around him, and one evening during a particularly violent maelstrom the turbulence they could conjure up hit a particularly wild zenith. It opened a tear in the fabric of dimensions and shunted the ship he was serving on and all aboard her into the twisted nightmares of the Far Realm. In that place of wild planar energies, dreams, visions, nightmares, and roiling chaos the ship drifted while the degradations of the Immaterium engulfed the crew. Mutation and madness took their toll, but before total de-evolution could fully occur the ship ran across another in the wild space of The Outer Void. It was no savior, but a nautiloid leviathan ship.

Within the bio-mechanical cloisters of the leviathan, the wayward crew was subject to every manner of study and experimentation that the Illithid masters of the Planar Hulk could devise. Every bit of the crew was dissected, observed, cataloged, and put through increasingly alien and sadistic tests to wrong every drop of knowledge their mutated biology could be distilled down to. In the case of Jeorgio his eldritch bloodline, and the effects it had with delaying some of the more grotesque mutations his crewmates were stricken with, became a focus of interest. So much so that it attracted the attention of the Cerebrate Magister of the Vessel, the arc-psion Virgilius. On his observation he had Jeorgio placed in a gestation pod, and one of his own Illithid larvalmorphs implanted directly into the brainstem of Jeorgio. The surgery was done with Jeorgio fully conscious and unsedated, to ensure no alchemical imperfections or interference with the ceremorphosis process.
