    • Name: Stygian Aqil

    • Nicknames: Koko, which means 'night'. He answers to anything that someone calls him, really.
    • Personality: Very curious, a little judgmental, but overall a very pleasant person to be around. He's always a little sleepy, and avoids parties or large gatherings, but sometimes can be found on the outskirts, watching over things curiously. He's the type to listen more than talk.
    • Likes: Fruits, bats, long walks at night, taking naps, going for walks, and the outdoors in general.
    • Dislikes: Bright artificial lights, and he really doesn't like being woken up from a nap. Missing a meal will make him horribly grumpy and he might bite.

  • Stygian

    Koko, quite obviously, is a shapeshifter that takes shape as a Stygian Owl. The word Stygios is Greek, and quite literally means 'the hateful'. The name was given to the birds due to the red glow their eyes give off when light reflects off of them. Often, the birds were compared to the devil in mythology, despite their relatively tame nature.
    Though, many of them have been collected by those with ill intentions simply due to their otherworldly appearance and evil associations.

    Koko's name, as unoriginal as it seems, is Stygian. When he was born, he was named Nasir, but once he learned what he was, he wanted to embrace it. His old name had meant 'helper' or 'bringer of good luck', neither of which he did much of. He seemed to bring discomfort and tragedy wherever he went, and quickly rejected the name his parents had given him, believing it'd cursed him.

    At 19, he moved far from home, out of his country, and began a life of exploration, learning, and the like. Now, as a historian and part-time old-fashioned watchmaker, he enjoys a simple life. Stygian owns a little watch shop, that also doubles as a library, in the center of town. Most of his customers are elderly folk that come in to read, chat, and only sometimes actually get their watches repaired or buy new ones. He enjoys the stories they tell him, and takes note of many of them, jotting them down whenever he gets the chance.
    His stores name is Time Flies. Again, very unoriginal, but he figured it fit, and the elderly people seem to think it clever.

  • Description

    When he's got more of a human-like appearance, he has wavy hair, with lord knows how many cowlicks all over. A sharp face, yellowish eyes, though if anyone takes a picture they'll show up red. He's slim and somewhat built like a stray kitten. A little pitiful to look at, like he's constantly walking through rain. But he looks good enough, and has a cute face.
    There's a sort of in-between stage where he has more red eyes and sometimes even some feathers behind his ears and clustered in tufts on his head.
    As an owl, he's got darker colored feathers, but stays within the medium range of coloring and size. He's always sleepy and honestly has grown to not care much about anything other than a few people and finding food. But overall he's kind of a grump.

    His personality ranges from young and full of curiosity to that of an "Old Soul". Some days, you can't get him to sit down for even a minute at a time, other days, it's an effort to even get him to go outside. Usually he's pretty pleasant, but only after at least fourteen hours of sleep and a good, hearty meal. No matter what, though, he's always looking his best, other than his permanently-ruffled hair. Nothing tames it. There's always a tuft or two sticking out, or a stray curl standing straight up out of his head.

    Often, a pair of round glasses are perched on the end of his nose while he works on his customer's watches.
