Anathaeum

    So, funny thing, I always wanted to follow in Master A-Towa-Cants footsteps and explore the world outside of the Twelveswoods. I was given such an opportunity. Somehow, a very stubborn Viera who belonged to a mercenary group that strives to make the lives of Ishgardians better, managed to get me released from Gridania. Well, I don't believe it took much convincing for the council to agree. I mean, it meant getting rid of the Padjal-Void-demoness right?

    My first impression upon this one reclusive city-state was holy, By Thalls balls its cold. Like, turning nipples into tiny glass cutters cold. And snow, so much snow. And ice, everywhere. I lost count how many bruises my poor bum has collected from how many times I have slipped and fell.

    Well, this Viera brought me into the Athenaeum, why I have no clue and to this day she has not told me why. What I do know is that Athenaeum is building up quite a reputation, good or bad is depending on who you ask. As for my own assessment. There are certainly some good people here. Their leader cares for those she leads and wants to aid. Her wife, while sarcastic and cold, i can see the heart of gold that lies under her sarcastic quips.

    Then there is Thove, who is their resident head-chef and slightly terrifies me but has welcomed me with open arms. And I am terrified because if I upset her I would not put it past her to poison my food. Hahaha. No, Thove is a kind soul who has been nothing but kind to me.

    And, the Rava who brought me into the fold of this mercenary group, while she has a face that looks like she is constantly having her monthly visitor, is fiercely protective of those she cares for. And, she has introduced me to a woman who has become my entire world, my mate and wife, Inayah Redfurn, my Sun and Couerl. For her privacy I will not say much, except that I truly, and wholly adore and love Inayah.

    Then, there are those who I trust as far as I can throw them which is not far, as my body is not the strongest. There are some, who, regardless if I am right or wrong care not for the low born who suffer and need help, only wanting to serve the noble houses and enrich them. I hope I am wrong, but so far....then there are those who puzzle me, truly they confuse me. I know Athenaeum has a hierarchy, not too dissimilar to a soldier squad of sorts. But, based on what I have seen so far, there are those who tend not to listen to the officers and are rather disrespectful.

    Then, there are those who are only in it for the gil. While I am mixed regarding my emotions, as I have never truly spoken to or dealt with a true mercenary. I am glad they are with us so long as the gil is good, because, despite how strong the officers are, I would not wish to see the wounds that would be opened and blood that would flow should they turn against us.

    But, each day I try to do my best to heal their wounds, decipher some ancient tome or rune or text. And be as helpful as I can to this group of rag-tags.
