Adopted by a Muggle family, Diana's parents didn't know what to think when odd things began occurring around their daughter. Glasses would shatter during particularly nasty tantrums and toys would levitate, or simply vanish, altogether. No amount of medication or counseling worked. They were about to send the girl to a psychiatric hospital, when a woman claiming to be Diana's paternal great-aunt Lucille showed up with a letter stating DeDe had been accepted to Ilvermorny: School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In an instant, her entire world was changed.

The people she had so lovingly called family didn't think twice about sending her to live with a complete stranger. It was no different than what they were already planning. At least, this way, they weren't responsible for the cost.

Filled with mixed emotions, Diana had no choice but to go along with it. And, boy, was she glad she did. Not only did it give her the answers to so many questions, but also opened her eyes to a world of possibilities.

After being placed in the Wampus house and making several new friends, DeDe spent the next few years perfecting her magic and finding out what she wanted to do as a career. In the Summer between her fifth and sixth years, she took a vacation to visit the United Kingdom, where Lucille showed her The Leaky Cauldron and Diagon Alley. While there, Diana met the Weasley twins, Fred and George, and instantly took a liking to them. They were charming and quite witty, and more than slightly mischievous.
