〘 🕷 〙Famine, disease, and destruction. A small hamlet in the middle of nowhere on the brink of extinction; with a population so small that no laws are enforced, and a large black stain resides over the entrance of their homestead. A warning to travellers and passing merchants to keep on the path ahead and not to stray too far into the village. An orphaned human child, alone in a makeshift shed; a bale of hay for her bed and an old torn blanket to shield her from the harsh weather, prime pickings for any blood thirsty predator. No one to notice her go missing in the night, but not enough to feed the creature prowling the hamlet. Instead, the darkness slithered across the dirt floor; a long black cloak and eyes as dark and terrifying as any known beast extended his hand out toward the young human child—offering her shelter and food in exchange for servitude and devotion to his dark creed. Weeping, Astoria accepted his misplaced kindness and ventured far from the light and into the darkness of her night father’s world.
Re-born in blood and agony, her human name long forgotten and her vampiric father the only known source of her new life. Her servitude as a child rewarded upon her twenty-first birthday with a bite so painful and a death so cold that she would always remember the moment of her creation. Steeped in her own blood but strangely elated with raw new power coursing through empty veins. Astoria’s once blue eyes now red, her teeth sharp and an insatiable appetite for devastation and destruction at the tip of tongue. Her night father’s guiding hand to teach her the ways of the vampire and her own manipulated contributions sobbing at her deathday celebration. A new hunger filled her, the sight of the trembling farmer making her pupils dilate and mouth salivate with anticipation. “Drink my child, feed your black heart.” Her father whispered, pushing her forwards.
Curling her claws into dirty brown hair, Astoria closed her eyes with ecstasy as the smell of the farmers fear filled her nose—the sound of his rapidly beating heart echoed around the cold stone walls of her home. He cried, tears hot and wet on his face as she ripped his head to the side to bare his naked throat to her hungry gaze; veins pulsating and skin soft. Barely able to control herself she lunged forward, teeth breaking the skin, the metallic taste of his blood filled her mouth and quenched the hunger of her black soul.

Strengths:Vampiric bite - As she has matured, Astoria has developed the ability to infect others with vampirism, though this is energy consuming.
Transformation - The ability to twist her features and transform into a bat for short periods of time.
Immortality - The life of a vampire is long, lonely and forever, while there are ways to incapacitate her, the undead can never truly die again.
Hypnosis - The ability to take control of another persons mind and influence their choices and desires.
Heightened Senses - Certain senses are heightened because of her vampirism. Her sense of smell, hearing and vision all improved upon infection.
Eternal rest - Both a strength and a weakness. A vampiric rest can recharge and help long lasting wounds to heal.
Weakness':Direct Sunlight - While long exposure won't kill her, it will leave her weak and in immense pain. She usually wears a hooded cape for protection.
Religious artefacts – Crucifixes, bibles and vials of holy water. All things that affect her powers and cause her to feel pain.
Hallowed grounds - Churches and other areas known to hold high levels of positive spiritual energy.
Entering uninvited - Without an invite, Astoria is unable to enter any building. However once permitted she cannot be banished easily.
Stake through the heart - A stake through the heart is the most common and easiest way to incapacitate her.
Eternal rest - When in a state of eternal rest she is most vulnerable and susceptible to hunters and those who sit her harm.
