    Former member of the Dalmascan resistance faction, Lente's Tear, Hael Cophiwesfv found himself a Garlean prisoner following a failed covert operation. He was tortured for information and beaten within an ilm of his life before being offered as a gift to one of the Garlean dignitaries in Kugane because of his unique looks.

    The Garlean Consulate was his home for a while as the imperials took it upon themselves to 'tame and refine' the savage. Hael was taught the art of entertaining guests and a variety of Kugane's cultural customs and etiquette. This was of course used to impress during important meetings with members of the bakufu in Hingashi.

    Hael didn't resist his treatment and merely bided his time, waiting for an opportunity to escape which manifested itself one night following a particularly lavish party. He had tempted his guards into drinking a bit too much sake and once they were drunk and alone, he'd disarmed them and used their own weapons against them to flee.

    With the Imperials on the lookout for him in Kugane city, Hael took on a new name, Kōri Ketsueki, then took up a position as an Oiran at the Menagerie. A Teahouse Venue in Uldah providing an authentic Hingan experience to those wealthy enough to afford it.
