Burnished mahogany and disheveled most days, Alan's hair was typically ignored unless cajoled into managing it by his other half. Despite the intentional disarray, the wisping chaos was considered an aesthetic, tousled and unruly mingled with luxuriant and rough-edged.

Acknowledging his faults, his written ideas which can become reality are carefully scribed, as he always keeps in mind his own shortcomings and prejudices with the power he employs. Reactive to a fault with an acerbic personality, Alan was a particularly strong-willed albeit self-proclaimed skeptic. While inherently brave, though at times fueled by his intense love for Alice, Wake will blur the lines between courage and stubbornness, right and wrong. His foibles or even serious flaws often surface in bouts of sudden aggression, but in the end, Alan will transcend his faults towards achieving a greater good. At times, estranged from reality and emotionally withdrawn, Alan will slide into states of melancholia, now and again falling back on old habits and reliances. He is petulant, but reflective and frequently mired in conflict. Alan suffers from a dwindling enjoyment of his profession, and the occasional strained relationship. Though he regularly deals with burnout, he makes an effort to become motivated, inspired by his newfound conscience, past experiences, and progressive mindset. He knows that some of the things he does are not who he genuinely wants to be, but the endeavor to drive back the darkness within is a battle with no victories.

He has a mind for timing, wit, and humor despite his typically caustic disposition. Amongst his lesser known works are two unpublished manuscripts: Depature and Return. His first published work was Errand Boy which stood to be Alan's official debut into the field of writing. Because of his notable contribution to the Dark Vision magazine, Wake's big break came in the form of a writer's slot on the famous television series Night Springs. The show acquired cult classic status and despite his short stint collaborating for the drama, Alan has currently agreed to work with the FBC in reviving the series while tentatively writing new projects.
