    Standing at a regal height of 6'3, Taeral towers over most humans and he likes it that way. His hair is wavy to an extent, thick and black as night. He has an undercut and is known to tie his hair back with a feathered-band. His ear lobes are pierced and he often inserts black studs. His skin is a beautiful combination of bronze and gold, unblemished except for his scars. He detests tattoos and thus, has none. His eyes are almond-shaped and tapers at the ends; his irises are grey mostly, but there are flecks of black dotting them. His eyebrows thick and un-furrowed, giving an appearance of indifference. He has an angular nose and full lips, which are darker against his skin. He takes good care of his skin. He is clean-shaven.

    Black, greens and greys are his favourite colours for clothes and he prefers wearing dark colours. He is always fully-clothed and rarely appears in a state of undress. Only when he cleans himself or slumbers does he remove his clothes.

    IN THE BEGINNING
    In a small village, there lived an elven family who were known for their wood-carving and figurines. The village was known for peaceful transactions, with merchants passing by with their trade and conducting peaceful business. The carving artist had two beautiful children, Taeral and Taewyn. The son was mischievous growing up and often got himself into trouble with the other villagers; however, the tricks were harmless and the villagers were quite fond of his antics. The daughter was sweet and helped her mother in her daily duties.

    Years passed by and when Taeral turned eighteen, he was asked to go across the country with his father to promote their business and explore the area as well. Things were going quite well until they passed through a forest that was known for bandits. As expected, Taeral's cart was ambushed by a horde of bandits, most of them human. They slit the father's throat and kidnapped Taeral, seeing as he was fit and young. The bandits sold him to a slaver, Isolde, for a good sum and left Taeral to his fate.
    UNDER A SLAVER'S HOLD
    Life changed on a dime for the young elf. His carefree life was filled with torture and abuse. His master was a ruthless human named Isolde who enjoyed watching him suffer. Menial tasks, and degrading ones to an extent, were given to him. She trained him with the another older slave to toughen him up. She took great pleasure in making him abuse or kill people. While she never used her whip on him, she did enjoy having him getting beaten up. He spent eight years under her grasp until he decided to rebel. A few other elven slaves were at their limit and had grown close to him. They offered their loyalty to him if Taeral could get them out of their situation. A crafty and smart elf, Taeral caused dissent among their master's ranks, which led to infighting. During one such incident, he managed to steal enough blades to arm his small band of rebelling elves. Together, they rose in mutiny and launched an attack on the already separated guards of their slave master. Taeral took it upon himself to end Isolde's life and he was finally liberated as he watched the life drain out of her eyes.
    SHADOW HAWKS
    After being released from Isolde's slave group, he wanted to use the skills he had been forced to learn and form a small band of his own. The other elves who had been enslaved with him were grateful to him and a handful of them decided to join his company. With their trust and skills, Taeral formed a small mercenary company. They called themselves 'Shadow Hawks' and advertised themselves as willing to take on any kind of errand for the right price. For a while, they liberated slaves from slavers and soon came to be known for their slave-releasing errands.
    CURRENT SITUATION
    Though he was no longer under Isolde, her torture has left a deep wound in his psyche and he underwent a personality change. He still has the black brand in the inner portion of his wrist that identifies him as someone else's property. He hides it by wearing a wrist-band made of leather. He rarely takes on lovers, but he is not far from being attracted or forming attachments. However, he refrains from forming deep attachments with people, which is a consequence of his slavery days. He gravitates towards males more than females, but if he is attracted, he goes with the flow and sates his desires, opting to not let it cloud his judgment and decisions. He considers himself as unlovable and undeserving of love, feeling tainted by Isolde's short presence in his life.
