Vanderbilt. Everyone will like the sound of that name and how it tastes on the tip of your tongue. An old wealthy family, earning lots of respect from generation to generation. All lawyers. His father a lawyer, his mother a lawyer - of course, it’s always been expected that Lucas had to become one too. Meaning he read a lot, from a very very young age. Already at the age of 9, he read a novel from edge to edge. Always the expensive schools, the one that requires a uniform and a high level of manners. Lucas fit right in. Basically, he grew up in a suit. Though, it had its flaws. Those schools always cared more about the grades than about making friends. And to Lucas’ luck, he has always been very very clever, thanks to his parents, that pushed him to study every single night. Always being closest with his mother, despite the hard work, encouraging him to try to make some friends - some real ones. Something Lucas never had been good at. He was too shy to take the initiative and he always felt judged as soon as he tried to start a conversation. The Vanderbilt name didn’t quite follow him into the social status as much as it did with his brain. His quietness caused the big boys to seek him over time, and it became a daily routine to expect wedgies or casually being pushes in the hallway. It kept going for many years, yet he never told his parents. After 6 years of torment, the 15 years old Lucas felt so bad, he seeked a way out. Something that could take his mind off of things, something to numb the pain. And who would ever sell a kid drugs? Well, with his name he could do anything. It became a daily thing, couldn't go to school without popping a pill or two first. The drugs changed him as a person, especially because of his young age. Getting more angry, growing more hate and for the first time, he started to push back. Earning some respect and eventually they left him alone, he was no fun to them anymore. 25 years old today, he still put up a fight if necessary, no one will ever step over his line again. A very protective type, a good and loyal friend, and an even better boyfriend. Never the cheating type, doing anything to show his love. To be fair, he is a sensitive guy, could you blame him? If someone hurts the people he loves like he was treated, Lucas will lose it. If you meet him today and haven’t known him as a teenager, you wouldn’t suspect his huge drug abuse. It’s grown into his personality, and you will rarely notice it, if you treat him well. As for his parents, he still talks to them everyday, walking into their footsteps and has now 3 years left of law school. He’s had a lot of problems with the police and the law over time, but that’s one of the benefits of his name. They will just pay him out of it. |
