She listened to her, not talking much after that, mostly trying to be supportive by lending a ear and a shoulder, only responding when she thought fit, and only to try making her feel better. Using her hands to wipe her tears away... She listened. Linka felt a tug in her heart though when Melissa confessed to her that it was her who asked Marcus to end her back in the day, and she can only wonder how that must have felt, indeed. But just the same, she can understand the desperation behind that request and the pain Mel should have been feeling. Linka felt more and more curious at the things the ancient chose to share with her, things Marcus has never told her about his past, I mean, she assumed he wasn't a bad person when he was human, but this only confirmed it. It made her smile deep inside, yet feel sad just the same. She was about to comment at the end, when Mel felt like apologizing for being 'the worst company right now', and at least she managed to deny with her face before Marcus told her in her mind to get out the room for now.
'Go back to your room now, child... I'll check on you later.'
Her eyes widened for a moment, she wasn't even aware of the time that has passed just chatting with the younger ancient, apparently it was a long while. Quickly, she got up, and stared back at the window where his dark sillouette shown. He was sitting over the old stone balcony railing covered in creepers, dropping one of the leaves as he sighs, staring out at the sky, giving his back to them. It was still dark but in an hour or two the sun was meant to show up. Linka turned to look at Melissa once again and greeted her with a little bow out of respect, heading out slowly after that.
Only after the little one left, Marcus dares to say; "You talk too much, Mel..." He doesn't dare to look back at her, by now, just being at the balcony was peaceful enough, yet enjoyed to push his's lil sis' buttons in the meanwhile."

Many times Marcus had found comfort in the youngest's arms, whenever he wanted to accept he was feeling down or not, and it was not only because it was her 'gift', but because Marcus allowed her to get closer in very rare times unconsciously. She could tell that her master was really feeling anxious last night and even more, a lot of conflicted emotions that it was hard even for herself trying to chill down. She used her soft voice mostly to sing a lullaby to the ancient being until he managed to get some rest, yet he had left the casttle not too long after that anyway... But most of his emotions seemed to show he was content in a way to see his sister one more time. This also clearly shown her that he could be moved by emotions in a way that was overwhelming for a vampire. Sure, they can feel a lot, but beings like Marcus who are mostly trying to show a cold stance, was odd.
The girl could also feel part of these emotions that arised within the ancient when she told her about who she was to her older brother and the things she used to do around him. Part of her was happy, yet somehow also jealous. Both Marcus and Mel seemed to have a really close relationship it seems... Not that Linka could feel much about this in contrast. All she wanted was her master to find some joy in life, trying to help him in anyway she could just as he did for her in past and, if it was even possible, cure the obvious hate and madness he stored deep inside his being. He was just so damn dissapointed in mankind if was heartbreaking to her.
Obvious thing was that Linka wasn't able to listen to the ancient's thoughts, her level was too low for that and it would never be enough since they would always be stronger than her as the years went by. She nodded and hummed in response at the fact that yes, Mel's brother was indeed a box full of surprises. "In all honesty, he didn't tell me much about you, my lady, but yes... He obviously wanted me to stay close to keep you company while he's out." Linka was also aware that Marcus didn't like much when she told others about things he could have chatted with her, but here, she bets he was aware that Melissa, if she wants, could listen to most of his children's thoughts without effort. She was an ancient after all, so it was useless trying to keep things for her, that's why she seemed to just talk freely with the older woman.
"I bet he also didn't tell me much this time because it's you we are talking about, an ancient." Leaving the brush beside her, Linka tried to pay more attention to Mel, and sighs. "But be aware that I'm sure that he isn't mad at you or anything, he must be feeling conflictive, but in a way that happens around him in rare occasions when it's about someone he cares about. He worries for you, you clearly are not a burden as you expresed before. Just... Give him time, my lady." She tried to smile at her. "He'll be back before you realize.""
