Ren

Born into nobility. A prince.
Born into a world with doting parents and siblings.
The second son of four children.

"You are bright. The God's smile on you. Wherever you go, good things will follow."

A boy so beautiful that he was the envy of the court.
The court ladies often whisking, the then young Ren, away to doll up.
An interest he may have kept as he came of age.
Preferring bright colored, pretty hanbok to the more masculine garb.
He often decorated his gat with various types of flowers.
Whilst a taboo - the young prince frequented kisaeng houses.
There he would learn to dance, play instruments, and sing with the most beautiful women of his Kingdom.

That was where he met... him.
Visiting from a foreign country.
They both drank. Talked.
Ren entertained the fellow.
Inebriated - hasty, passionate, abrupt.
A meeting that left a deep impression.

It would soon be known that Ren was of royal lineage.

Their interactions were off and on thereafter. An envoy was busy, after all.

When he did visit, Ren would be the first one he would see. Bringing gifts of lavish from his homeland.
Ren didn't know this was all a ploy to win his trust.
Bonds were forged.
As time would have it; their relationship transcended that of what was normal.
Obsessive. Constricting. Suffocating.

Ren was suffocating. Confused.
Someone who claimed they loved you wouldn't hurt you, would they?

Then, he asked for Ren's hand in marriage. A spectacle made in front of the King himself and the court officials.
Ren brought shame upon the royal family.
Immediately disgraced, for no son of his could have relations with a man, let alone marry one.
Enraged, the King threatened both Ren and the man he loved.

He was beaten, forbade to see that envoy for the rest of his days.
Punished to never leave the walls of his palace.
The great offense had roiled with it contempt and talks of war.
It was a serious situation.

Ren went months without word from the man.
He was depressed, but oddly... relieved.

The night of the attack was just like any day.
Servants groomed the prince and carried out their tasks just as they had done many times before.
Then - screams, metal clashing, death throes. A cacophony sounded outside of his chambers.
Confused, frightened.
The prince desperately tried to escape.

"You thought I wanted you? Ha...ha ha ha ha.."

Covered in his mother's blood, the prince wailed.

He had wished it was him.

He was taken away. His Kingdom fallen, his family - dead.
Taken by the very man he thought he could trust.
It was his fault.
His fault everyone was dead.
Because he seduced... a demon with a pretty face.

Now, that the fun was had.
Ren was cast aside.
Ironically, shipped off. Without a thought given about his well-being.
The Tether is where he found himself.
Performing menial tasks to fly under the radar.
However....

It would seem his looks always caught unwanted attention.


Skills

New to servitude. The former prince can dance and sing. Has some apothecary skills. Hand-to-hand combat adept. Practical use of swordsmanship and archery skills only. Painter.

Abilities Invoke sleep With a single touch or song, leaves the affected with an overwhelming sense of exhaustion, slipping into a state of unconsciousness. Oft called upon for use of this skill by one that suffered with insomnia and paranoia. Flight Does possess a pair of wings, always hidden, that are able to produce flight if needed. Wind manipulation Ren can create and control wind, even manipulating it for offensive and defensive measures. Memory siphon Curious ability. Recently discovered. What triggered it? Blood arts Controls blood at will. If ability is used Ren will become anemic and need replenishment via transfusion or feeding from another. Will not use this ability unless he feels he has to. *Note: All skills and abilities are subject to change on a whim. Also note that Ren would be very discreet in what information he allows to be known. Could be assumed that he is 'normal.'
