  • TL;DR (Summary!)

    Naiomi's creation was Lord Xeddre's first folly into the world of Necromancy. After he lost his entire family to the clutches of a horrific death, his sorrow was too intense, and some say he went crazy. Unable to cope, he mixed perfectly normal alchemy ingredients and recipes with abhorrent Necromancy to make a living golem. He used items familiar to his late wife, and infused a domesticated dog soul into the alchemy golem to animate it into a form of life so new, it has no real name or definition. Naiomi was a lot like if your faithful family's dog was able to speak and walk on two legs. While Naiomi was not what Xeddre had expected, he loved her as he had loved no other creature, and no one could take her away from him. However, The Old Gods punished Xeddre for his trouble with necromancy and sent his soul into the Aether to "dissolve as sugar would in black coffee" (They didn't realize his soul was so powerful he didn't dissolve, but was exposed to "That Which Mortals Are Not Meant To Know" and Naiomi went on a pilgrimage to wish Xeddre back into the Mortal Realm (For she missed him so much, it was the only pain she could not happily tolerate). Naiomi literally has no brain, and is driven by the emotions and impulses of her dog-soul. Her aim is not to be "a good girl" but instead to be "best girl". She's bubbly (however the most stupid person you will ever meet, 'cause not having a brain does that to a person), kind, and eager to take on any task put before her. Much like Ekans tells Pikachu, that pokemon are not evil, but their trainers can be, and thus the evil trainers can make pokemon do evil things. Naiomi works the same way. There is not a single drop of evil in her body (Even though everyone avoids her, and the stink of necromancy she has). Naiomi is about as pure as an older golden retriever (or some other beloved long-term family pet, y'know, like when they basically become a member of the family, than an animal) wanting to help others and make them smile, while eating all the snacks, and getting all the head pats from the world of Master and Mistresses.

  • Xeddre the Undying's Shrine

    Xeddre the Undying's ancient shrine was located within a mountain for over seventy years, transported there by one of the owner's last actions just before he was tossed by the Old Gods into the aether for his trespass against their laws. Forgotten by everyone but the little Naiomi, who forever maintained its pristine perfection appearance-wise, (even if for no one's benefit other than her no longer present Creator Master) Lord Xeddre's the Undying's shrine looked misplaced given that it was, in fact, a massive tree. Naiomi did not know where her Creator Master, the great Lord Xeddre, had gone, but she refused to forget the home they once shared, and have it fall into disarray on her watch!

    While the rest of the world moved on, the shine became no more than a suspiciously avoided area on some older maps of the world. Given its position within a large southern mountain, the entire structure was carved out of a large, old, and ornate, tree (surely it was the inspiration for the one known as 'Gia') and for a reason known only to Xeddre, it was found abandoned, but maintained within the very much presently avoided mountain. A truly magnificent wonder of nature, it looked to have about a forty-seven-foot wide trunk, and spiraled so high into the empty cavernous mountaintop, the evergreen leaves (thought it was clearly an oak tree, not a pine) were kissed with ice crystals from the chill of air, and the snow cap on the outside of the mountain. The air was forever temperate and pleasant, allowing the tree to survive in this strange place for quite some time. In its previous location (that was unknown to most) the tree had grown for eons and managed to grow to an outlandish size naturally. The front gates, made of gold, allowed entrance into the massive tree trunk that had been almost completely hollowed out, leaving just enough trunk left for continued living, even growing, if imperceptibly to a mortal.

    The gate was shaped like an overhanging arch, and since the temperate climate never got any more hostile than "blustery" it left the innards of the shrine mostly exposed, and visible from outside the barrier of shimmering precious metal. Upon close inspection, one could make out dragon ruins so old, that the generation that might've remembered when the dialect was common among dragonkin, had pretty much died out; this script gave a foreboding warning to any and all who could read it as it ran the border along the arch. The pleasant magically summoned breeze of the afternoon wafted through the branches and various hand-carved windows. The ceiling was merely the dense collection of green leaves the top of the tree boasted, and as the wind caused them to dance, false sunlight poured in, causing dappled patterns to shift over the largely brown interior of the tree-turned-shrine. Close to the gates (the long gold poles that made up the vertical-moving fence were topped with alarmingly sharp ends: so there was some level of security ...other than Naiomi herself of course!) a portion of the tree stump had been left protruding from the wooden "floor" of the handcrafted "tree-cave" to serve as a wide table that could accommodate numerous guests all at once. It was laden with dense rich silks as table cloths, and surrounded by plush red velvet pillows, as the table was made to function without chairs (to accommodate short little Naiomi, who was not fond of climbing into chairs surrounding normal tables!) An ornate white porcelain tea set, with gold and purple accents, sat out on the table's surface, atop the cloth that kept the cups and kettle from leaving marks on the pristine aged wood.

    A few feet farther back, directly behind the table, was a giant throne. Literally, it seemed ready to accommodate a true giant, no shorter than nine feet tall. A collection (or rather, a neatly dusted and arranged pile) of skulls of various creatures (beasts and men included!), created mini mountains around the base of the throne. Attop several random skulls were candles half-burnt, with their cold solid red wax dripping morbidly down the hollowed-out and lifeless features, meant to give at least a little light in the darkness after the fake sunset, Xeddre had fabricated a sky above the tree, the illusion of it hid the top most shadows of the cave where the tree was located, and while it looked natural, it gave a terrifyingly unnatural feel to the entire hollow mountain cavern where the Tree Shrine was located. A rich tapestry of red, with intricate gold patterns, was draped across the throne, and the wood it was made of was again, an immovable part of the trunk not carved away; but rather morphed into a seat fit for a king. Various dragons of both Eastern and Western persuasions participated in battle scenes with one another which was carved into the arms and crest of the high-backed wooden monument. Other than those two statement pieces, there were various small tables, and towering bookcases with their shelves packed with enough books to have several in every language known to man. Baubles, treasures, and various items of varying magical power littered random surfaces around the huge singular throne/dining room.
