Bites her knuckles when she is deep in thought, and hums under her breath when she's in a good mood.

What does Lyrah look for in a partner?
Lyrah loves someone who can interest her. She is used to the same boring nobles every day coming into her place of work, getting their suits and dressed tailored, looking down at her from the edge of her nose. She needs someone who won't judge her for her poor background, someone who's smart enough to draw her, someone who can make her learn and think about things she had never thought about before. She is attracted to intelligence and independence.

What is her preference?
Lyrah is pansexual. She doesn't care all that much about gender, however in the world and period that she is in, she is expected to marry a man before the age of thirty. She doesn't want to get an arranged marriage so she always acts like she has a husband who is away on travel to avoid desperate men. She doesn't prefer a specific gender, she likes personality more than anything.

What turns her off about a person?
Controlling people. People who want to control her or her thoughts. She has a slight fear of men because of the period she grew up in, where women have fewer rights than she does, so she doesn't want someone who will push her around and tell her what to do. She wants someone who respects her choices and likes, dislikes, goals, and dreams.

Personality (big/descriptive):
Miss Lyrah is a very complex character. While she is incredibly kind to those around her, she is also very judgmental and has a hard time accepting the flawed things about people. Why? Well, she likes to romanticize everything. She's a romantic person by heart and in a world where everything isn't black and white, she has a hard time accepting the grey.

But don't get it wrong, she doesn't trust people easily either. She likes to be romantic, but she isn't blinded by it. She only romanticizes people after she gets to know them. Before she gets to know people, she holds up a firm wall to keep herself safe. In the period she is raised in, the 1800's, her view of people is very skewed. Especially men. She dislikes men by default and her sexist views sprout from her lack of rights and control in her life, which was taken from men, and the way men use women as wives and mere trophies. So she often lies about having a husband who is away on travel so she can steer away arranged marriages and desperate men who can't take the words 'no thank you'.

She isn't super close with other women. Miss Lyrah is a shy woman and it takes a lot for her to open up about her interests, especially since her interests aren't what "normal" ladies would be interested in. After all, what lady would want to know about her shelves of mystery and crime books? What lady would want to know about her strong interest in machinery? It wasn't that she was a scientist, or a detective, as she didn't want to hunt down criminals or make machines; but she liked hearing about them and reading about them in her novels. It was a guilty pleasure.

Miss Lyrah is against a lot of nobles. She views the majority of them as conceited and selfish, as she is used to working under them and tailoring their clothes for them. Once she even tailored a dress for a princess! It wasn't a grand experience, she had wine dunked on her head the moment the princess decided she didn't like the result. What did she expect? Lyrah made what she asked for and fitted it to her measurements, it wasn't her fault that the princess didn't like the EXACT shade of the dress when she didn't even specify what type of blue.

So she hopes. She hopes that one day she can be more than what she is. Until then, she will continue to be shackled by her duties as a seamstress and expectations as a woman. Maybe she will meet someone one day who will help her find herself.
