Velina

Velina is a sweet young woman with a genuine, kind heart, ready to help those who need it if she can. She's a little lonely, a little sad, but ultimately well-intentioned.

Unfortunately that's buried under a lot of acting and paranoia.

Velina, or Velvet, depending on how you know her, can slap on a persona easy as her well-practiced makeup. Her go-to is "stupid but harmless bimbo" enhanced by her valley girl accent, love of the word 'like' peppered into her sentences, and a pervasive vocal fry. While it is actually how she naturally speaks, she cranks it up to 11 when she wants to be perceived as ignorant and ignorable.

She's also learned to fit in with her bosses, and can match their raucous (or raunchy) energy with her own. She's ready to match a crowd's expectations, to give them what and who they want and expect. She's everyone's party girl, she's everyone's doll.

She'll lie through her teeth to keep people at arm's length, emotionally or literally.

Nobody needs to know she's lonely, uncertain of her future, and always worried the wrong person will find out her secret. They don't need to know that sometimes she's afraid to be around people at all, or that she worries her craving for others' Vibe really does make her a monster. Her dependence on sleeping pills to get any rest isn't anyone's business, and she can take care of herself...as long as her bosses keep her creds coming.

The world maybe needs to change a little, and maybe it would be better if she didn't have to hide, but she's made the best of it, right? She's doing well! Maybe she doesn't have a solid dance partner, but if she stays out of trouble, does she need one? Nah, all good here. Sure, being employed by Banditos probably makes her one by default, and sure, that will probably get her into messes, but it's nice to finally be sure she won't have to live off Vendy Bars. She'll figure the rest out as it comes.
