  • Two golden Bengal tiger cubs born to a mother who'd been kept in a circus since she, herself, had been a cub, they never learned how to survive in the wild. Further, their rare pelts made them targets for hunters, animal traffickers, and more. Mikhail and Marina rescued them from the circus, and since they couldn't be released, kept them. They weren't merely pets, however; Mikhail bonded with them, and they with him. They're more like friends, really; sentient beings who are treated like it.

    That doesn't mean that the Tigrievs are blind to the dangers two adult tigers represent, of course. Each has a small implant which acts like a shock collar without the collar. Controlled by a smartwatch with subtle hand gestures, the implants can go from a small buzz to a full on oh crap stop that tiger shock. That isn't something Mikhail likes to employ, so he ends up trying to convince them to stop being stubborn more than anything else. At least, being naturally curious, they're relatively easy to get going somewhere. Relatively.

    In such a manner, the Tigrievs, specifically Mikhail, are accompanied by Remus and Romulus at nearly all times, without the need for chains or the like. Onlookers don't know that they're being nudged with subtle buzzes; they just see two adult tigers walking around without hindrance, seemingly held in check by no more than Mikhail's word. Rare it is, the person who goes against the Tigrievs, once they've met Remus and Romulus.
