Trust Port, the T is silent, is America's capital of crimes, both occult as well as mundane. With an average of ten violent crimes per day, the monster city has even beaten the motor city.
It is Gotham City, Sin City and Night City, thrown in a giant blender with bad horror movies, and it has its own little brand of desperate madness.
Gangs like the Barnburners and the Sharks roam the street.
The Barnburners like to dress up in hockey gear and travel on inline skates. If they have trouble, someone will end with a skull beaten in by a hockey stick.
The Sharks are a bike-gang, dressed in grey. They have paintings of white shark teeth on the top and the bottom of their helmets and use red visors for the full effect. They control around 30% of the city's drugs, and their debtors and any investigator who doesn't take bribes end up swimming with the sharks in the giant aquarium of their headquarters.
As in most cities, the biggest gang is the police. Anyone not on the take usually doesn't last a year without meeting a grizzly end, not just by rubbing the Sharks the wrong way, but usually gunned down in an unfortunate incident when only other policemen were around. Of course, in the report, there are mentions of an unknown gunman or they just fit the description to whoever has the misfortune of being in a holding cell right now.
And that is just the mundane stuff. The cult of Tchernobog sacrificed two people to him last week, the followers of Koviliaths tried to open a hell portal but only brought a very local zombie-problem into this world, violent crimes are up to 12 a day during full moon, and every so often corpses totally void of blood turn up.
Maybe this is why the human party has the biggest power-base around here. Most people know them from the giant "Your neighbor might be a vampire. Do you feel safe?"-billboard near the docks. They get a lot of votes, despite having notable little pro-human politics. Most of their policies are just pro-rich guys, with the occasional anti-monster politics thrown in to have something to sell their voter base.
Due to one of their efforts, every non-human has to register their special condition with the state, but very few do. Being a registered werewolf is a sure way to be accused of any violent crime happening a mile around you, and an even better way to never find anyone who would accept you as a tenant.
Trust port sprawls over a large split on the east coast. Some islands near the coast are part of the city as well, being connected to the rest of the city by metastase-like bridges.
