Aiden was born in San Jose, Ca to Richard and Alicia Marquez. His father spent the early part of his career working in Silicon Valley, ground zero for the .com boom, so technology was always a big part of his life growing up and he took to it naturally. At 15 he discovered the dark web and he was immediately drawn in. It was a playground of nefarious activity and he was determined to make his mark.
After a few years of learning the latest hacking techniques and building up a library of tools that could be used he started work on his signature project. The idea was simple really and it perfectly married his passion for music with his technical skills. For the next year he dove headlong into developing malware that, once delivered, would add the users computer to a network of bots that innocently simulated streamed music in the background on popular music streaming sites. Under his control this network of bots could be used to, overnight, make an unknown independent artist go viral triggering a network affect that would launch them to stardom..... for the right price.
The technology aspects were easy. Finding the right customers for his service were proving to be a harder and was taking more time than he would have thought. By the time he left home for college to continue to studying computer science it was just starting to gain some traction on a smaller scale than he'd envisioned. He was just waiting for the right customer to test it's full capability.
Though attractive, his online obsession had earned him a reputation in high school as an awkward loner. With a chance to make a fresh start in college he decided to take a step back from the online world and focus more on the world around him.
