A large manor house situated in a forest clearing, its back lined by trees taller than the roof's tips. A natural-grown yard extends out towards the other end of the clearing, which closes into another wall of trees, save for a rocky driveway that leads down to the road, marked on either side by small stone pillars that have lost their original shapes to time.

For years, I saw and heard things no one else could. My drawings frightened people, and pretend play felt more real than it should have with just my dolls and stuffed animals. My parents sent me to a psychiatrist, and he suggested early-onset schizophrenia, but no amount of treatment made the creatures go away. Eventually they gave up and left it alone; it wasn't exactly hurting anyone (though my social life took a nosedive thanks to the otherworldly forces).

Still, even when the anhedonic throes of depression gripped me, my love for the supernatural endured. I did all I could to commune with spirits, to learn about what lurked beyond our human perceptions. It was often the only thing that kept me going, ironically.

As soon as I was old enough, I turned this passion into a business, for I knew that no ordinary job could keep me. Ghost-hunting never pays much when you first begin It is only when you gain notoriety that anyone starts to care. Seances, investigations, cleansings, and banishings were all under my belt by the time The Ghost Veil House came into my possession. Realtors couldn't sell the place; the spirits frightened off any potential buyers, giving it its name.

However, I was able to make a deal with them: both the spirits and the realtor.

I obtained the deed for a fraction of what it was worth. In order to appease the otherworldly guests, I was to leave the manor in as much of its original state as I could. No excessive renovations, no disposing of things that held sentimental energies, and no removing the old dule tree situated in the center left of the front yard. I made good on my promises, and in exchange, the spirits gave me power and the wealth of the manor. They are my secrets.

Folk still call upon me for my skill with the otherworldly, from priests to wealthy folk to the impoverished. I will help anyone I can for whatever they can afford.

And sometimes I bring a few friends home too...
