Spike (played by EnterSandman) || May 15 2024, 6:38pm
The words 'I love you' never left the blond vampire's head though, and maybe that was because he just couldn't believe them. Even when in the end he proved he was finally worthy to be by the Slayer's side, Spike just couldn't believe them when he knew there was someone else in their lives. Oh, the irony of it all though, because he also cared for Buffy's first love, Angel. Drusilla had sired him, but it was Angelus the one who taught him the most back in the day. Such a tragic, love-hate relationship that one.
By obvious reasons, Spike seemed to prefer Angel instead of Angelus nowadays. It was a love-hate relationship before because Dru just couldn't help but to fall to Angelus' arms, and with Angel was the same somehow, Spike still thought that Buffy, in the end, would always chose Angel over him. That, of course, if he decided to come back for Buffy, right? Denial. He was used to the idea that he would never find that special someone that would chose him over someone else. All he always wanted was to be loved, in the most pure way there is, like the pitiful bloody poet that still resided deep within his heart.
Who would have thought that that wouldn't be the end of him though, bounded to the same ancient amulet, Spike became an incorporeal entity haunting the halls of the Los Angeles branch of Wolfram & Hart for a while, until he became corporeal again. He struggled to find a place in the world, only to join Angel in his battle against the Senior Partners, and all in the last year. He also remembers going out with Angel on a mission, only to see Buffy at the distance. They had tried to reach her, but it wasn't possible.
The words came to their ears as well, that in that moment the slayer was dating the Immortal. Someone who quickly bacame a rival not only for him, but also Angel. Funny times. Two vampires bickering like teenagers for one girl, even plotting to kidnap her and stuff as long she could be with them. It were just words though, trying to lift some of the pain within their hearts in the end, they know damn well they would never do anything to hurt Buffy. Hell, if it came of it, they would die for her.
Part of Spike smiled at the thought that the same bond the both had with the Slayer, made him feel more things than just jealousy and anger. He was also glad to know that the other vampire cared for her just as much as he did. What a trio.
But yeah, that didn't mean he would reject possibilities it they came to him, if he had to fight with his mentor for the Slayer, then bring it. Hell, he's sure he'd have one hell of a time, being Spike so fond of fights. It always bring joy to his system, having or not his soul back. Punching Angel in the face was one of those things he'd always enjoy.
After having that one last night in LA, before the final battle against the Circle of the Black Thorn, they discovered they had brought Hell on earth. Seeing the portal to another dimension and how it brought creatures and monsters towards their own was usual nowadays, right? The battle would never be over, so... He knew there was still a lot of work to do.
Maybe, once this was all over, he might dare to go to Rome and pay Buffy a visit, but seeing how things were unfolding, it was pointing that that time was far away of his reach. Angel apparently had him all to himself. Great.
"Now what?" Raindrops still were falling over the team, and Spike's eyes were set on Angel.
"Like I said, I want the Dragon." Came the reply, before the leader jumped over the roof of one building, and chase after it. Truth was that he didn't 'chase' after it right away, it's just that up there were enemies he could smell and wanted to take care of before anything else.
"Bollocks." Spike soon lost sight of Angel, but he couldn't worry about that because demons were now attacking them. He tried to keep them away while Illyria, behind Fred's looks, tried to watch over Gunn. She was still new to the team, and she had lost Wesley by now, the least she could do was watching Charles' back in his last moments. She wasn't alone on that though, Spike was doing a great job on his own to protect what was left of their team.
That was two weeks ago, and even when things have settled a little, these creatures were still on the loose. Somehow, Charles survived after that fight, but was still in the hospital right now. After the whole chaos, Angel and the team had to go back to their last hideout since they didn't belong to Wolfram and Hart anymore. Illyria was with Spike, visiting Gunn in the hospital. The black dude was even commenting about the Slayer, wondering if it wouldn't be good if she showed out of nowhere to help them with the mess, and Spike rolled his eyes, shrugging at that, while Illyria asked who she was.
"I believe she has her own amount of weight over her shoulders, besides, this is our fight." Said the blond. Even when the idea of it would only mean he'd get to finally see her again, thing he desired a lot and at the same time, he wasn't quite sure yet if it was ready for it. For all he knows, Buffy still believed him dead, huh?
