Not everyone is so lucky as to be brought back from the dead while adventuring, and Laius had no expectations of coming out of the dungeon he was last in. The magic of the dungeon kept his soul close, let it linger even as his body faded into dust within the armor he wore.Quote:

A normal man, with a normal upbringing, he is a bit dated compared to most, with a narrow naivete of the world - monsters being feral things, including beast men of all sorts, and that magic is something to covet and keep secret, not boast as a skill to the world. Does he have any of his own? He doesn't think so.
Managing to convince the sorcerer that brought him back that he can keep his armor, he pawned off the bits of treasure hidden on his person to pay for the quickest passage elsewhere - only to end up stepping off at the wrong dock and being left behind.
Laius is certain he was mistaken for new stock, and is trying his best to not end up as such, but it is a losing battle. Not his first. Hopefully not his new last.

Always eager to cook something up or teach another, he's a showboat when it comes to every step of the art and can recite common recipes off the top of the head, to the point he'll even charade out the motions of each step when allowed to.
and maybe, just maybe, there's a fire of a fighter in him,
if someone can just give it a good fanning.
His appearance is possibly deceiving, as he seems to wear a mask of indifference while in the public eye, knowing his enthusiasm is an acquired taste and still very much struggling with how much honesty is enough when getting to know people. At first he seems a man with a short vocabulary and limited patience, too busy or too stupid to make conversation depending on the day.
As soon as the walls fall and he believes you someone who won't treat his company like a waste of time (sometimes seemingly willingly blind to how true that is) you will find an excellent listener, remembering and asking after details most wouldn't bother with, Laius brings to mind a loyal golden retriever once you give him a chance; boundless energy and a focus that only needs a whistle or a little movement to redirect on the right path.
A preference for keeping busy, if you show any sign of sharing skills or knowledge, Laius will gladly endure your flaws to earn either. Likely blind to red flags and with so very few of his own.

He can probably make simple tools or weapons at request, but finds himself wary of handling any sort of armor or jewelry, as the residual magic from his revivification has given him a bit of a wild magic touch, sparking charms and imbuing the items with some random affect the longer he handles it.
Already enchanted armor seems to end up in his possession when he's not looking or paying attention, and he truly hopes people believe him when he says he didn't take it.
