Introduction

Estel Brackwell
Born not on land but on an Avariel merchant ship, during a horrid storm. The cries of the mother could be heard as she gave birth to a beautiful Avariel baby girl that her mother named Estel. The name Estel is a Sindarin elvish name that means hope or trust. Estel was born with curly auburn hair, soft fair skin, and black feathered wings. Her mother would call Estel her little blackbird, this was due to the fact of estel’s wings and the fact she loved to perch in high places. The Brackwell name is well known among traveling merchants and was once highly respected as great people and merchants.
The merchant ship was always packed with Avariel and elvish trinkets, weapons, foods, and more. So even though she grew up on the ship she got to learn a lot and grew to enjoy an odd interest, tinkering with things. It was strange because female Avariels didn't really tinker and mess with things that could harm their delicate skin. But Estel was different and her mother loved this about her daughter. As she grew older estel grew to find herself attracted to both genders but never did they find her attractive as well.
Estel is what's known as an Avariel, a winged elf, Avariels are more delicate than their earth-bound cousins, with hollow bones to aid their flight. They had pale skin, often porcelain white. An avariel's wings were usually white but could be black, brown, or speckled. Avariels are also known to practice the dyeing of wing tips. Their eyes were slightly larger than normal and ranged in color from brilliant blues to green or purple. Their hair color is normally silver-white or black but earthy colors aren't uncommon. Avariel is said to have the most beautiful voices of all the tel'quessir, and their songs were greatly sought after by bards of other races.
As Estel grew older her love for tinkering grew and grew to the point she became an inventor and would be constantly working on some new experiment and creating some new strange gadget. Her mother had supported her in her choice that was till one experiment went wrong and blew up the ship killing many on the ship including her mother and those she called family. She still experiments but does her best to contain her explosions and incidents.

Appearance

Estel has a more oval face shape, Oval faces have a jawline that is slightly narrower than the temples, and tapers from cheeks to chin. The length of an oval face is longer than the width. She has large hazel eyes that change from green to brown. She has long dark auburn hair that hands down to her lower back in waves. Her body is more mesomorph, where her body is well fit and yet slim and curvy in almost an athletic way. She is five foot even and always hated how short she was compared to others but her short stature comes with small delicate hands and fingers that help a lot with working with small parts for her inventions. Due to her size and the fact she has more “hollow” bones thanks to her racial genetics she only weighs about 110 lbs. Now that's not including what her weight would be if her wings were still intact. Her skin is a smooth fair cream color with evidence of “incidents” decorating her skin and body.
Estel at one point in her life had beautiful large ebony feathered wings where the long flights of feathers would drag behind her as she walked. But ever since the explosion that took out her family's ship, her wings have never been the same. The right wing is singed and the feathers look as though they were sent into the fury pits of hell all singed and gross looking and only a fourth the size her wings once were, The left side is just charred skin and bone, no feathers left. Due to this not only is she no longer able to use them to fly. But keeps them bound to her back and under her clothes making her look like a regular elf to those who don't know her well enough or have ever seen the remnants of her wings.

Personality

Estel is a being of habit, for example, in the morning she has to have herself a cup of mint or black tea with some sort of meat, eggs, and fruit, as she eats she goes over her notes of any previous project she is working on and write new one or reminders for herself before she fully starts her day. estel is actually a very orginised person. Her home is quite clean along with her shop, though once one sees her workshop may think otherwise. For her workshop even though it may look cluttered its actually very orginised and she could tell you where exactly everything is.
now even though she makes sure to eat well and keep things orginised, her self care isnt fully top notch, for yes she eats and stays hydrated but there are many times were she will not sleep for days due to being so into her work. If it wasnt for her owl companion she would forget to eat and drink in all honesty.

Estel is known to be abit strange and unorthodox. Not many people really hang around her and some even are terrified she may accidentally blow them up. But in all reality when you get to know her you would find that she is a very extroverted and optimistic woman who always looks to the brightside and can even find humor in her own faults and mistakes. She will alway learn from her mistakes and do better next time. Her bravery to explore and tamper with the unknown can be seen as stupidity but she is actually a very logical person who relies on her brain over her heart. Though when she does get emotional she can be a very agressive person but thats not always a bad thing.

Being an inventor Estel, absolutely cant help herself in finding something new to tinker with, and creating things that could be of some use to others. She loves making friends and having a good time, but sometimes when she has fun it can be abit much for others. She loves to drink and tell stories of her failures and travels. Many dont understand why she talks more about her failures then her successes but that because its her failures that lead her to her successes.
she absolutely loves fall thanks to the stunning colors, birds of all kinds make her smile for they remind her what its like to fly since she no longer has that ability. Even though she loves the fall her favorite sent in the world is the smell of the ocean for it reminds her of her life eout on the ocean on her families ship. Though there are so many things she likes and loves about life, there are some things she highly dislikes such as people mistreating her inventions or not heading her warnings when it comes to the things she creates. She hates being called crazy for she doesnt think herself crazy just unorthodox.

Estel is a highly intelligent young woman, with unusual people skills. She is talkative but goes off on random tangents at times. When it comes to work and being out in the open she is quite confident but that confidence goes straight out the window when she “likes” someone. When she likes someone she can become clumsy and easily dazed, hence why she does what she can to just love her work and not allow herself to fall for anyone else. She is a very patient person and also seen as creative but you kind of have to be when you work in the same field she does.

Estel can be seen as a sort of fearless woman but that's only due to the fact most of her fears have already come to pass, like loosing her loved ones. She isn't scared to die herself and just wants to make her mark on the world. Now the only reason she doesn't have the fear of losing someone close to her anymore is due to the fact she has made it a point not to allow others that close to her. But this fear could easily return if one managed to get close to her again.
When it comes to simple pleasures it's easy enough to figure out, food and liquor after a hard day's work. Some may say she indulges in too much drink and would fit perfectly in with the sailors.

when it comes to health she is very healthy, but when its comes to her race she would be called disabled due to her wings being unusable. Other then her wings that she keeps hidden from others, she is the vision of health. She eats right, get some sleep and stays fit as a fiddle. Though her drinking habits and her dangerous job path some say she is a danger to her own health.

Vedel was a strong-willed woman who got pregnant with Estel at a young age, young for her race. Raised Estel on her own on a ship with a full crew sailing the seas but lost her life when one of Estel’s experiments went wrong and destroyed the ship.

History

≼ birth - childhood ≽
born on a merchant ship, the young avariel Estel grew up raised by her mother and the ships crew. The young estel loved flying, playing pranks, and tinkering with things. She was the wild child on the sea, her mothers little blackbird. She would love singing songs, dancing around the deck, seeing new lands and learning new things. When she was five she started to tinker with her toys pulling her toys apart and making new ones out of them. It was about the age of seven when her mother noticed when the child focused on something like a potted plant in her cabin, a colorful drop of liquid would form on it. At first her mother thought her daughter had an affinity for water but that wasnt for the case for when her mother touched the droplet vines grew from the droplet and encircled her finger. This was when it was obvious Estel had a strange ability with mana, somehow she was able to concentrate unseeable magical energy we know as mana into a concentrated physical liquid form.

By her early teens she was able to make, collect, and store the liquid mana in small vials she would soon learn to keep them, know which ones were for wich elemental mana. And soon enough started to experiment and make things to go with her plethora of mana vials. But one day after she just turned seventeen she was working on her first ever weapon a fire and lightning mana sword, but she was unaware that fire and lightning shouldnt be mixed. This caused an explosion as she tried to test her experiment. This explosion took out the ship and as far as estel was aware killed everyone. Now she has a constant reminder of that mistake, for as the explosion went off her beautiful black wings wrapped around herself and destroyed her wings. She was later found by a ship of pirates after she had been floating on some wood for three days.

Staying with the pirates that found her she would entertain them with shows created by her liquid mana. Life was the same for her everyday, learning about different weapons and fighting styles she was able to make a few weapons here and there for the pirate crew. But what ended her journey with the salty crew was when she took the captain's two best spy glasses and took them apart to make her goggles. Thrown overboard with her bag and her owl luna she now swims to the nearest land.
