➠ Emmett Shiloh Hart
The name Emmett derives from the Old German word irmin or ermen meaning "whole" or "entire." The name Shiloh is of Hebrew origin and it means “He who is sent”. Both Emmett's first and middle name were chosen by his mother, meticulously chosen, just as she had done for his older brother, and then his two younger sisters. The last name, Hart, was the only name that was a part of his father, the last name his family shared.

Emmett was born on September 13th in Oakland, California in the bathtub of his parents' run down apartment. The second son of Christina Hart and Richard Hart. Emmett's older brother, Trent, was about 3 years older than him. About 2 years after Emmett was born, his two sisters were born, Shannon and Marissa.

Emmett stands at 6'0", but has a very slouched and closed in stance. His frame is fit and muscular, from years of working out and performing as well as the increased strength of being a vampire. He is most often hiding himself in oversized clothing, specifically hoodies, baggy jeans, and clunky boots. His body is covered in scattered tattoos, from his face to his legs, most residing on his chest. His hair is naturally brown, and curly, always messy. He sometimes will shave it or bleach it if feeling a bit more rebellious, but as he has gotten older he keeps it natural more often than not. His hair grows fast, so changes to his hair never phased him. He doesn't ever really dress up, even when he was a rockstar he would often perform in casual attire and comfortable clothes. He has bags under his eyes, and almost always looks exhausted. Pretty much the look he has had since he was turned into a vampire.

Emmett was always the level headed and responsible sibling out of the Harts, and he still is to this day. He doesn't raise his voice often, and if he does that just means you really got him going. Most people think he is miserable, which, after getting turned into a vampire he often feels like that all he is. But when he would perform, a bright light would sparkle in his eyes. Even though he is quiet and reserved, he is not afraid to stand up for what is right. He has a past of sticking his nose in situations that don't involve him, people shoplifting, fist fights between young kids, yelling matches between couples. He just has this sense inside of him where he needs to butt in and try to help if he can, that's how he has always been.

"Gender Identity, Sexuality & Romantic Preferences"Emmett was assigned male at birth, and continues to identify with such, using he/him pronouns. He identifies as bisexual, finding all genders attractive (and making it quite obvious too when in the flirty mood). But when it comes to romance, Emmett identifies with demiromantic, only being comfortable with and developing true romantic feelings towards other if he knows you well and trusts you fully. Letting people into his soft and vulnerable side is not something he does too willingly, so he is more of a loner.
"Past Drug Use - Brief TW"(The previous drug use will NOT be mentioned actively in his writings/roleplays, and if they are mentioned, there will be clear trigger warnings in the start. It is a part of his character and background, but he is in recovery and I will not rp the topic in detail.) As as young teenager, Emmett turned to drugs for a short period of time before finding music to cope with the betrayal of his father. Since he grew up in a neighborhood where drugs were so easy to get a hold of, as well as his older brother being an active drug user. Until he found the music program in his high school, this was an extremely dark time for Emmett. Because of this, he has strong sensitivity to drug use. He has remained clean and in recovery through his adult years, but after turning into a vampire he struggles with the comparison to needing to feed on blood to when he was a user. It scares him and he hates seeing that side of himself, even though he knows being a vampire is not something he has control over.
"Career & Living Situation"Emmett recently started anonymously songwriting for some artists, under a alias, and will make some money that way. Other than that, he will do small loose end jobs around the town to make some extra money. He does not feel comfortable being out too much, due to him still not fully understanding his limits and strengths as a vampire. He lives in a small apartment, tucked away in the corner of town, just before the woods.
"Relationship with Family"Since turning into a vampire, Emmett has been more distant from his family, even though he loves his mom, sisters and cousins with his whole heart. He watches them mostly from a far now, but as he gets better at controlling and understanding his vampire abilities and obstacles, he has been seeing them more and spending more time with them once again. He hopes to one day rekindle the relationships he had with the people he grew up with, but he is not yet ready.

Emmett Shiloh Hart’s upbringing in Oakland, California, was a turbulent journey through rough streets and fractured family dynamics. With his father's long stretches of absences, likely entrenched in illicit dealings alongside Emmett's uncle, Emmett's upbringing was shaped by his mother, who shouldered the responsibility of raising him, his older brother, and two younger sisters. Summer days were often spent at his maternal aunt's house, where Emmett and his siblings created strong friendships with their cousins. Emmett's father remained a distant enigma until the day he vanished, leaving behind a void that was plagued with unanswered questions and bitter resentment. During an argument between his paternal uncle and his mom, Emmett found out the fugitive status of his father, and that he disappeared to run from the law. This only deepened Emmett's sense of betrayal and abandonment, deciding that he could never forgive his father for leaving their family.
Emmett discovered refuge and purpose in music. Introduced to its transformative power through a high school music class, he found himself in love with the art of songwriting. Immersing himself in the company of like-minded peers and a supportive music teacher, Emmett found an anchor that kept him grounded and mostly out of trouble during his high school years. With this support, he was the first of his siblings to graduate high school, since his older brother had dropped out halfway through. Upon graduating, Emmett was determined to carve out his path in the music industry. Despite facing numerous setbacks in his pursuit of local gigs, he persisted, driven by a determination to break free from the constraints of his upbringing.
FAME LED TO MISFORTUNE:
One fateful night, a scout discovered him performing at a bar, opening the door to the beginning of his rise in the music industry.
Suddenly thrust into the limelight, Emmett embraced his newfound fame with gusto, soaking himself in the whirlwind of tours, appearances, and the adoration of fans. His success provided him with the means to fulfill his desire to provide a better life for his family and relocate them to a safer environment in a higher-end Los Angeles town. Basking in the glow of his achievements, Emmett felt invincible, his future brimming with promise and possibility.
However, an encounter with a VIP fan would shatter his world and alter his destiny. Seduced by the allure of the night and the intoxicating rush of fame, Emmett found himself wrapped up with this fan, and inevitably they both went back to his trailer that night. In one single moment, his reality was shattered, as he was bitten by and turned into a vampire.
Emmett's transformation into a vampire marked the beginning of a solitary existence. Recognizing the issues that his continued presence in the spotlight posed to both himself and his loved ones, he made the agonizing decision to sever ties with his former life entirely. With a heavy heart, he ended his record deal, leaving behind a substantial portion of his savings to ensure his family's well-being before basically vanishing.
For two long years, Emmett wandered the states, grappling with the complexities of his newfound existence as a vampire. He roamed from city to city, his movements guided by an instinctual urge to remain elusive and unseen. Despite his desire to protect his family from the dangers that now shadowed his every step, he couldn't resist the occasional longing glances cast in their direction from the outskirts of Los Angeles, where he silently observed their lives from afar.
The void left by his abrupt departure weighed heavily on Emmett's soul, a constant reminder of the sacrifices he had been forced to make, and how his family must have thought he was just like his father. With each passing day, he found himself haunted by the memories of the life he once knew, the echoes of applause and adulation fading into the distant recesses of his mind. The relentless scrutiny of the media, quick to attribute his downfall to drug abuse, only added fuel to his simmering resentment, leaving him feeling powerless to reclaim his tarnished reputation.
RECENT YEARS:
As the news articles stopped and the journalists found better things to write about, Emmett reconnected with his family from a cautious distance. Taking up residence in a small apartment nearby, retreating into the sanctuary of his thoughts and music. Though he found fleeting moments of inspiration in the melodies he crafted, the bitter taste of regret lingered, a constant reminder of the dreams that had been shattered in the wake of his transformation.
Emmett remained plagued by uncertainty and apprehension about the future. With his savings dwindling and his future uncertain, he did not know what was going to come next. But Emmett forged ahead, fixed upon the uncertain horizon, determined to reclaim some sense of purpose and meaning in a world that was forever altered by the shadows of his past.
